For the last month or so I've noticed that I have a very dry and itchy scalp as well as flaky. Im not sure whats causing this but it gets so bad to the point where I wanna pull my hair out and its mid-back length. I used sulfur 8 shampoo and cholesterol conditioner when I washed it a few days ago. I also put tea-tree oil on my scalp cause I heard its good but my scalp feels like hell!! I used the parnev tea-tree oil but that wasnt helping so I tried hollywood beauty tea-tree oil. It works for a few days then the itching comes back. I dont want to wash it again so soon cause too much washing can really make my hair dry. I have no clue what to put on my scalp to make the pain stop. If I keep scratching Im going to get sores. My ends are moisturized but the scalp is the complete opposite. Could the extreme cold weather be playing a role in all this? I live in southern PA. Please help!!!! :(
Black Hair Care: Dry Itchy Scalp???
Trust me: Do not put any grease on your scalp! If u would like to get rid of the dry scalp stay far away from any mineral oil or petroleum jelly products because they dont moisturise nor grow hair. Water is actually good for the hair but its cold so i would not recommend too much washing. Try using profectiv products on your hair especially the green on for itchy scalp; its great for relaxed hair and cools the scalp nicely. I loved it when i was relaxed. Shea Butter also works great since it is natural and would help heal your scalp, moisturize and grow hair, use sparingly. I hope this would help!

Black Hair Care: Dry Itchy Scalp???
You might want to stop using the sulfur 8 shampoo, it might be to hard on your scalp. Stick to Black hair products, like the tea tree oil. Tr the tea tree oil shampoo and get a hair oil, like african pride or african essence and put it ion your scalp. Make sure you get your scalp well moistourised. Try oiling your scalp every day or every other day. It could be that it is just dry and needs the oil.
If that doesn't help, go to see a hair or scalp specaialist.
