I just answered a question about why Blacks relaxe their hair. The common anwers was, easier to do (not true), to fit in with corporate america, the usual. All boiled down they are worried about how white folks will look at them when they walked down the street. I don't care what anyone thinks about me or my hair. Just be you.

Indeed, be you, but be prepared for the consequences. And this is a prime example of individuals of color perceiving racial discrimination where none exists. Anyone that presents themselves as something other than the accepted business norms, be they white, black or something else will not be accepted into the ranks of the successful class. That is why we have no outlaw bikers as bankers or CEOs, why you see so few dreadlocks in congress, and why droopy drawered gold tooth worm haired urban males remain stuck in the ghetto.

Every race has its good and what by our standards are seen as bad qualities. No race is better than other races and nobody has to feel that any of their qualities are inferior those of others. For example, black people are the best athletes because of the qualities of their muscles. The commonly known as kinky hair is not a bad quality.

In fact, it is a good quality. Both muscles and hair have natural adaptations to the environment where they lived for many centuries. That type of hair and color of skin is the best protection from the tropical environment. Good muscles were necessary to deal with the wildlife they had to encounter everyday. You do not have be ashamed by the qualities of the race you belong to. Every race has good qualities. By the same token, white people didn't need to have a dark skin or kinky hair because of the northern latitudes where they had lived, but in the tropics those are disadvantages. To help with this, sun blockers and hats can be used.

Black people are human beings like any others with all the defects and virtues. If you anyone doesn't like kinky hair, there are a lot of good hair straighteners in the market that will serve the purpose for which they are offered. Regarding the dark skin, it is man made prejudice which is not a Christian quality.

Unfortunately, image does mean a lot, especially in the corportate world. If you want to be a success in that world, you have to conform when you're in that world. Be whatever you want to be at home! I happen to love ethnic looks and hairstyles.

I have never met a black person in my life that was worried about what white folks think about our hair. Don't you know we are proud, successful, confident and talented. We could give two shits about what you or anyone else thinks about us. People that don't care about their appearance have low self esteems and self worth. If you're confident like me, assure of yourself and proud; you don't care what people think.People look good and keep their hair up because they feel good about themselves and We deserve it. You want to be, wish you were and can't, so you're squirrel caging about it. Get over it. We're beautiful, black and proud. We are sexy, beautiful, pretty, gorgeous, handsome, intelligent all that. If their weren't perms and relaxers, you be asking some other ignorant, unintelligent questions. White people try to wear their hair like ours, walk like us, talk like us, dress like us. They want to be with us, love us. We are the downest, sweetest, and coolest people that walk the earth, . Now what?
