Can someone recommend some good hair care products?

I am black and Puerto Rican and have curly, thick, black hair, that is also damaged (its really dry) it won't lay down unless I straighten it (which I don't want to always have to do) and is perputally dry, I haven't found many products that work on my hair, somebody please HELP

...I use Motions shampoo and after shampoo conditioner sometimes b/c they are targeted toward ethnic hair which needs moisture, and I can notice a difference...

...also I use Queen Helen's Cholesterol for severely damaged hair: you leave it on for like 15 min or more if you want, and that stuff leaves the hair moisturized as well., it's a deep conditioner..

...have you ever tried a lotion for your hair, like pink oil moisturizer...

...also when I rinse the conditioner out of my hair I don't rinse it all out, I rinse out enough so that my hair doesn't look white like there is something in it (you may want to ask a pro about this though-I read somewhere that this is not good for the hair cuticle, but every stylist I go to says my hair is in good condition)...

try using leave on conditioner. there are real thick ones for us in walmart. go to the shampoo and conditioner and hair color aisle, its in one of those aisles and you will see a lil bitty section for us, and u will see a big white pot of leave on conditioner. its good. makes hair soft and rather easier to tame.
