Any opinions on Tonelle Hair Care in East Orange, NJ?

hey! .u ..can find for..more information check out the below mentioned website...i think it will help u...

What are some indian hair care tips?

please i have an indian friend who wants to know this she use to have long silky black hair after that she dyed it perm it and used chemical products she now uses cocunut oil but she claims its no help

What are some indian hair care tips?

cocunut oil ahs to be warmed and applied to her hair tell her to use almond oil then. eggs are good but she need to get in the habit of using natural henna or shikakai products

What are some indian hair care tips?

Honestly, the best product that I have ever used is called Kerastase by Loreal. Its a salon product and what your friend will need is the Orange tub called Masqueintense. Its amazing, just amazing. After a week of using it she should feel a change in her hair.

What are some indian hair care tips?

sounds like she needs to go to the salon for some deep conditioning treatments. The chemicals are strong and have caused a bit of damage. a few of those should help the situation.

What are some indian hair care tips?

Eggs, how long does she keep the coconut oil in her hair usually supposed to be on over night and when applying it has to be nice and hot, if all else fails then have her shave her head and start over.

What are some indian hair care tips?

After chemically processing her hair she needs protien treatments. She needs to rebuild the hair from the inside out. Redken provides MANY solutions to distressed hair! Cat is one to start. Nioxin for chemically treated hair works WONDERS!!!

Oils are topical solutions that provide temporary relief.

You DO NOT have to shave the head!!!

What are some indian hair care tips?

I've done the same damage to my hair. The only thing that worked for me was not using any hair products for a while other than VO5 split-end Treatment shampoo and conditioner, and cutting off the damaged hair as it grew out.

Why do the majority of black men simply shave their heads now?

I'm not the least bit racist, and don't mean to offend anyone by this question, but black people seem to get pissed off because us white folks are always asking about their hair, so you guys might get annoyed. But my question is, why do most black males I see shave their heads or get corn rows rather then having more diverse styles, I'm not trying to stereotype because I do see others that do keep their hair, but I would say a good 80% of the black males I see shave their heads or get cornrows. I always liked the flat top style or what not you guys sported back in the late 80's and through the early 90's, the style Will Smith had as Fresh Prince, it always looked clean and fresh. Its just something I've always been curious about, and this site is a good place to ask those little things you wonder about from time to time. Is it just that your hair is harder to take care of, or is it just the style now?

Why do the majority of black men simply shave their heads now, versus styling it?

Why do the majority of black men simply shave their heads now?

A shaved head is a hairstyle. Most of the hairstyles you mentioned are dated. It's kind of like me asking you why do most white men part their hair on the side and comb it over. Why not grow it out %26amp; tease it like the 80's hair bands. There are many ways a black man can style their hair, it all depends on thier station in life. Most of the time a bald head can fit in at the office and at home, whereas "cornrows" or braids cannot fit in at the office too well. Then there are dreadlocks which sometimes isn't allowed in an office setting. Or a "fade" as it's called is a short hair cut that can have a design cut into it or have "waves", Or a texturizer which is meant to make the hair look curly, and last but not least a "natural" hair style (afro) (there are links to pictures below)

What do I do with my daughter's hair?

I'm white, my daughter's father is black. She inherited is hair. What's the best way to care for it? Any tips on styling it? It's super curly. Should i get it relaxed? If so, should I wait until she is a certain age? She's 4 1/2 now.

What do I do with my daughter's hair?

I have a daughter who is 3 and her father is white. She has mid-back length hair that is all over the place when she wakes up in the morning. Its a curly grade, not frizzy or "nappy" but it is still kind of poufy. What I do is use a wide tooth comb and a little hair lotion like BB, its a really good brand for little kids, and a bit of spray on detangler like Just For Me. First I spray on the detangler, then comb from the ends of her hair and work my way through until all of the tangles are out. After that I put in the hair lotion and she has perfect spirals that need no more styling unless I choose to put her hair in a ponytail or two french braids. Mixed race hair isn't all that much of a matter, its only becomes an obstacle if you see it as one. Also, don't wash her hair everyday, that only increases the dryness, if you rinse it and condition it every other night that should suffice.

But if its really curly, find a braider.

Do not use greases or anything with mineral oil or petroluem in it, it'll only complicate the hair.

Don't comb it while its dry, it'll snap off.

Never relax a child's hair, it could cause extreme damage and baldness. Its better to wait until she is about 12 for those harsh chemicals.

What do I do with my daughter's hair?

Not exactly sure how to answer this question, since I'm white, but if her hair is as beautiful as most bi-racial black/white children she probably has some wonderful curls. I would just leave it down, condition it pretty well, and put a couple of barrets in it on the sides to keep it out of her face. You're lucky to have a daughter with such cute curly hair.

What do I do with my daughter's hair?

It's too early to get it relaxed.

My friend's niece is half black too and they got hers braided.

I think that's best.

It keeps it out from her eyes and is pretty easy since you only have to do it once...and you can get it done another way every other month or however you want it .

What do I do with my daughter's hair?

Don't relax her hair. Because if the relaxer touches her skin..it will burn badly. So for now, give her corn rows.

What do I do with my daughter's hair?

No, don't perm her yet. She's too young. Why put such harsh chemicals on your child's hair? It could make her hair fall out. Try using a Just For Me texture softener's kit (it's for mixed children). And a curl defining serum. And you could try plaiting %26amp; braiding her hair. Take her to a beauty salon.

What do I do with my daughter's hair?

How about accepting her hair as it is, and teaching her that her curly hair is beautiful the way it is? She should be proud of her heritage. You are talking about relaxing a toddler's hair, that is pretty scary. If she ever wants straight hair, it should be her decision as an older teen.

There are plenty of hair care lines for african-american hair, most containing coconut oil, which is a great natural moisturizer. Keep her hair clean and conditioned and take her to have it cut at a stylist that understands her hair type. That is what you should do with her hair.

What do I do with my daughter's hair?

my friends neice is half white half black.....she has the same problem you do...except she pulls it back in a pony tail and usually puts ribbons in it...but thats really all she can do until she can get it relaxed...

What do I do with my daughter's hair?

usually black peoples hair is oily, so make sure to shampoo it every day. as for the style, ask her what she thinks of it. another tip: if you braid it or put it up with any kind of holder, be sure it is not to tight. this will put stress on the hair and cause it to release more oil! hope i helped!

What do I do with my daughter's hair?

the site www curls biz has products especially made for biracial children with curly hair. the products are really nice. i use them myself. i'd say not to get it relaxed. i stopped getting relaxers because it was messing up my hair. black or mixed people's hair is usually DRY. do NOT shampoo it every day. once a week at the most.

What do I do with my daughter's hair?

I am mixed like your little girl. My hair isn't white or black, it's in a league of its own. My friend (who owns a hair salon) calls it "Asian." She's Chinese. Anyway... you don't want to wash it every day... that strips the oil out of her hair, making it drier and increasing the possibility of breakage. I was my hair once every two weeks... you may want to wash hers once every three or four days. After you wash it, pull it in a low ponytail or braid and let it dry overnight.

With my daughter (hubby is white, again, I'm mixed), I do two ponies, braids, stuff like that. I'll do a pony on top and on bottom, etc. I just keep it back tight so it doesn't get frizzy.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

What do I do with my daughter's hair?

DO NOT relax it! Do NOT shampoo it everyday or will become brittle (no matter how much you moisturize) and will break off. you cab try a little water and gel to hold the hair in place and try a ponytail or multiple ponytails. make sure that you use a brush with plastic bristles if you want a smoother straighter finish.

Or you can just try a creme to enhance natural curls and let her go natural.

Can someone recommend some good hair care products?

I am black and Puerto Rican and have curly, thick, black hair, that is also damaged (its really dry) it won't lay down unless I straighten it (which I don't want to always have to do) and is perputally dry, I haven't found many products that work on my hair, somebody please HELP

Can someone recommend some good hair care products?

...you sound like me...

...I use Motions shampoo and after shampoo conditioner sometimes b/c they are targeted toward ethnic hair which needs moisture, and I can notice a difference...

...also I use Queen Helen's Cholesterol for severely damaged hair: you leave it on for like 15 min or more if you want, and that stuff leaves the hair moisturized as well., it's a deep conditioner..

...have you ever tried a lotion for your hair, like pink oil moisturizer...

...also when I rinse the conditioner out of my hair I don't rinse it all out, I rinse out enough so that my hair doesn't look white like there is something in it (you may want to ask a pro about this though-I read somewhere that this is not good for the hair cuticle, but every stylist I go to says my hair is in good condition)...

Can someone recommend some good hair care products?

use products from Doo Roo

Can someone recommend some good hair care products?

Wear your hair natural honey. Aveda makes greeeat natural products that provide shine and hold. Consider also getting an updated hair cut that is more manageable in your natural curly state.

Can someone recommend some good hair care products?

try using leave on conditioner. there are real thick ones for us in walmart. go to the shampoo and conditioner and hair color aisle, its in one of those aisles and you will see a lil bitty section for us, and u will see a big white pot of leave on conditioner. its good. makes hair soft and rather easier to tame.

Any tips for hair care?

my hair breaks easily and it has split ends and its wavy

i have long black hair and i want it to be straight and shiny with no split ends

what should i do?

Any tips for hair care?

it s very easy , just three step.. shampoo, conditioner and serum.. choose the brand that suitable by the consult from the professional and remember dont ever do too much of shampoo , its will just make ur hair worst. and go to salon onces a month to do hair treatment and for best results twice a month.

Save on power to save your hair...

Let your hair dry naturally occasionally to give it a break from hot irons. Make sure you use a good absorbent towel to remove excess moisture and avoid rubbing your hair 閳?it'll cause split ends and won't leave the hair shaft smooth. A leave-in conditioner will also fight the frizzies.

How often to wash?

If your hair is fine, thin, or short, it's best to wash it gently every day. Cut back to washing two to three times a week if your hair is long, thick, or curly and only wash your hair one or two times a week if it's very dry or chemically processed.

Apple cider vinegar- a natural hair treatment

An all-natural way to eliminate shampoo build-up and toxins in your hair is with apple cider vinegar. Rinse your hair once a week with one cup of apple cider vinegar; it閳ユ獨 found in grocery or health stores.

Stake out salon training nights!

Most top hair salons offer low-cost cuts on training nights, where student stylists work their magic (under the close watch of their more senior colleagues).

Smooth hair secret

Switch to a satin pillowcase to keep your hair smooth. Cotton and synthetic pillowcases make your hair frizzy and rough.

Moving on up...

If you don't keep the blow dryer moving every few seconds, you can damage the cuticle and ruin your hair's natural shine.

Healthy hair is happy hair!

As with any hairstyling tool, moderation is the key. Remember that the ends of your hair are the oldest and most prone to split ends and breakage, so treat with care.

No Lemons

Don't use lemon juice to bleach your hair! The lemon juice combined with sun exposure will dry out your hair. Leave the job to a professional hairdresser.

Quality is best

If you have damaged hair, avoid using cheap brushes and combs. Quality tools have better bristles and are more gentle.

Satin sleep

Wake up less likely to have a bad hair - by sleeping on a satin pillow-case. It will help easily-tangled locks stay smooth and snag-free.

with this steps , i think u will have a nice , shiny silky hair.. Good luck

Any tips for hair care?

Well, I am no hair expert, but I know a lil secret about how to shampoo PROPERLY!...^_^

To really shampoo properly, you gotta use your finger pads and massage your scalp with shampoo. Don't rub shampoo into your hair, but massage THE SCALP%26gt;...^_^

That's my lil incky wincky secret!!..^^_

Any tips for hair care?

First, get your hair cut. Then use a deep conditioning product on your hair twice a week. Also don't use too much shampoo when washing hair because that drys it out.

Any tips for hair care?

coconut oil the best .it nourish you hair a lot of nutrient and natural.you can it by hotoil.massage it .

Any tips for hair care?

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Any tips for hair care?

when you wash your hair rinse the shampoo with as hot water as you can stand and leave the conditioner in as long as possible wash it out with the cold water it traps in moisture!

Any tips for hair care?

first you have the choice of getting it cut or leaving the ends split and trying this. take some vinegar and mix it with some fresh lemons quized. mix them and then rub them on your hair. cover your hair in a shower cap for about one to one and a half hours.!!

that should do the trick. good luck!

Any tips for hair care?

Split ends usually is a result of blow drying and styling too often. Just let your hair dry naturally and time to time you can apply coconut oil to your hair. Put a shower cap and let it rest for few hours. It really moisturizes. Cut the tip of your hear quite often.

I need amazing miracle products for black hair.?

my hair is VERYVERY "curly" and coarse. it would be afro like if i didn't relax it. But i've had it relaxed so it poofs out ALOT. at the salon they made it very silky and soft. i do put alot of hair care products in my hair to keep it soft (motions, cream of nature, weekly deep conditioning) but i can't manage to make my hair silky! I want my hair to move with me, not stay in place. The salon gave me hope because they showed me that it CAN be silky like my friends. The salon i visited was a latino salon. If anyone has worked at one, please tell me what products i can use to make my hair silky and pin stright.

please don't tell me to just go to the salon. it was pretty expensive.

Dabur Vatika hair oil is the best. It's enriched coconut oil. Use it 4 times a week at night (not every day!). Do it like every other day at night before you go to bed. Put a shower cap on your head or towel while you sleep. If you do this for 3 months in a row you will see a HUGE difference.

Gals, do you like Unilever's hair care line Sunsilk for Brunettes and Blondes?

Ever wonder why they never made any for red heads and raven haired?

I know brown hair and black hair is put in the same category as brunettes however it would be nice to see one for black hair, and I'm sure red heads would like to see one for red hair.

Gals, do you like Unilever's hair care line Sunsilk for Brunettes and Blondes?

i dont really like sunsilk, but Pantene has a line of Shampoos %26amp; COnditioners, for blondes, brunettes, red heads, and black haired people.

African American hair care???

I need help with my hair its really curly and no matter what I do(relaxers flat iron and hot combs) nothing works to make it straighter. Anybody know how it can look straight and not so frizzy. If you don't know bout black hair DONT comment!! Dont tell me to ask ppl or relax it I've tried.

African American hair care???

after you relax it, i grease, mosturize, then i flat iron it. and wrap it every night and before i got to sleep put on a scarf.

now you should only have to grease it once in a while like every 2 weeks, but mosturize it every day with a nickle size portion and flat iron once a week or every other, but u can wrap ur hair every night. also try hair polish or john friddas hair surem

African American hair care???

you ever tried the chemical reconstructoring. its not a relaxer its a perm. permanent straight hair. they have 3 intensity levels. strongest, medium, and lightest chemical depending on the structure of your hair. do u have fine hair. then u need the medium strength or strongest.

African American hair care???

I would really recommend leaving your natural hair alone. Relaxers and heat will damage your hair. And natural hair is "in" right now. Just let your natural hair grow out and wear it big.

If you must wear straight styles, applying a mouse or wrap lotion, along with a de-frizzing product, before you dry your hair will help hold your style and texture. And find a good hairspray or spritz (I like Dudley's). Also, don't forget to condition and moisturize.

African American hair care???

have you tride to change shampos that works sometimes. you could also go to the salon a black peple slaon and get your hair done there or you can get tipps from there theyy willl help you and just make you look great but kepp your hair nice and clean thats help to o use this hair mayo not the kind you eat i use it and it woork for me put it in your hair set under the dryer tell your hair is hot then letit coo and then u can wash it out for better rezulets you can put you hair under the dryer and let it coo agion then washit out it should work it not keep trying something wil but i know you all ways will look great so if im the best answer please tell me i love to help you with more thing thank very much taly emanil me at embrytaylor@yahoo.com i want to help you more cuz i had the same promble well bye and i hope this has helped gurl

African American hair care???

Dominican hair care.......Blowdry. Go to a domincan hair shop they are everywher in ATL and NY

African American hair care???

I hope this helps there's a site that I go to devoted to black hair questions. It's www.blackhairmedia.com It helps you figure out what hair type you have %26amp; what shampoos and condtioners can help. Also, the ladies in the forums can answer any additional questions %26amp; suggest wonderful products. Wrapping your hair at night in a silk scarf can cut down on the frizz.Let me know if this helps.

African American hair care???

Apply a setting lotion and Luster's Pink Oil Moisturizing Lotion to wet hair and just comb it through and add rollers to your ends. This should straightening out your curly hair.

Hair management?

Hi, I'm a black girl and I need help taking care of my hair; I really don't know that much about it, except for when it's time for a perm. I need tips on how to keep it healthy because I want it to grow.

Hair management?

Well black girl i'm a black girl too. Our hair is naturally dry so oil and conditioning the hair is best but not to much conditioning. Stay off the hot curlers and over processing the hair with chemicals. Keep hair clean, wash at least once or twice a week. Wrap it up at night with a satin scarf or use a satin pillow case. This keep the hair from drying out at night. And try to wait at least 6-8 weeks in between relaxing the hair. I perfer 8 wks if u can. Get a trim every other month. Keep this routine and before you know it you'll have healthy manageable hair.

Hair management?

Key to good hair is to maintain a healthy scalp. Then make sure that you aren't using too much heat or products on your hair. I am an advocate for frizz ease serums because they make you hair look nice without the drying effects that gels have. Make sure to trim your hair every four to six weeks and to wash it with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. When using heat use a thermal hair protectant.

Black Hair Salons In Chicago, IL??

You just gave a list she could have found herself on the web. I'm sure the request was for some personal salons that you've been to personally Report It

ADVICE FROM A HAIR CARE PROFFESSIONAL, pleeeease?

I had black hair. Two days ago, I went to a salon. They used Color Oops to get some of the black out (didn't really do much at all) and then bleached it for a little while to bring it to a light-medium brown. Even though she toned it after, its still a pretty brassy orangey (or caramelly) light brown, and underneath the top layers, its a nice neutral brown. ********SO---i went to Sally's and they recommended I use a neutral protein filler for 20 mins, followed by Colorgems demi-permanent 6.0 light natural brown. But I'm afraid that my hair might be so porous that it will suck the color in and turn black again. Will the filler completely prevent this from happening? (note: I also got Colorgems demi-permanent 8.0 medium natural blonde, in case someone tells me the blonde will do the trick in toning the brassiness out of my brown hair.) What's your advice?

ADVICE FROM A HAIR CARE PROFFESSIONAL, pleeeease?

Your hair won't turn black again unless you put black on it. When I think of a "filler" it would be a color in between where I am and where I want to be. I often use fillers when changing someone light to dark. A protein filler probably does a similar thing but condition as well, and will fill in (get it-filler!) the porous hair shaft. A level 6 is pretty light and as long is it's a N you'll get a warm light brown color. I am a professional, better cutting than coloring but if no one else answers you, my answer is better than nothing.

Oh, as far as brassiness-Get a violet shampoo and conditioner-that will help a smidge

ADVICE FROM A HAIR CARE PROFFESSIONAL, pleeeease?

.First go back and get your money back. Explain how they screwed up. And maybe they can fix it. Dang girl what did they do to you. I have had major bad hair cuts, but girl you have a mess. Don't buy another thing without getting professional help in a salon. It is going to cost big time to fix that mess. Get the money back and go to a different salon and pray they can help you..Then go buy a wig or hat. They are in style and with that kinda money you can really be in fashion. Pardon me but what was wrong with black hair?? It is pretty silly people pay good money to have black hair. Not everyone's complexion can handle black hair. Go back to black.

Naptural Black hair help me?

I've been trying to grown out my relaxed but it seems like the more that is grown out the more damaged it gets so i moved up getting the BC to next month. My hair naturally is very coarse 4A and i really want to use products on my hair made for curly hair that doesn't include mineral oil or petroleum. Can anybody suggest something? I've heard that Mixed Chicks, Cream of Nature, Nubian Heritage ( but i can't find anywhere even on the internet that sells their hair care) and even Knotty Boy (for dreadlocks) works good in natural hair but i don't know for sure. Does anybody have any suggestions on good quality products?

White ladies with half black children? Don't know to take care of hair esspecially when is on t

Isn't it so sad how a lot of white women with bi-racial children that have pretty kinky hair don't know how to do it. Their hair becomes so damaged because their white mothers don't know about hair moisturizer. This weekend at The hair salon my cousin works at this one white woman came in crying and i saw this little cute bi-racial girl who's hair looked like it really needed to be combed. I had to comb it out, wash it and braid it or else her mother wouldn't know what to do.

White ladies with half black children? Don't know to take care of hair esspecially when is on the kinky side.

WORD!

some white people is clueless. they take their sons to white barber shops and their kids hair comes out nappier than when they first got there. wtf??

White ladies with half black children? Don't know to take care of hair esspecially when is on the kinky side.

Ok this is racist. I'm white and my husband is part Sudanese part Saudi so he's black. Anyway I'd be danged if my daughter was taken to have her hair braided. Don't assume that all white women who have bi racial kids don't know how to braid their kids hair.

White ladies with half black children? Don't know to take care of hair esspecially when is on the kinky side.

I think it takes alot of time getting used to. It's not even that hard to look after because it's longer and less thicker than a Black persons hair. So manageable enough to comb

White ladies with half black children? Don't know to take care of hair esspecially when is on the kinky side.

When you become a mother, regardless of race. You have to learn to take care of your children. Some people don't know how to do hair, having children is a learning process. I'm sure that as time goes on she will learn how to manage it. Or she can just pay to get it done, until she's old enough to have it relaxed.

White ladies with half black children? Don't know to take care of hair esspecially when is on the kinky side.

If they had a clue in the first place....

White ladies with half black children? Don't know to take care of hair esspecially when is on the kinky side.

I think you're being a bit harsh here. Granted I understand what you're saying but you could at least be more tactful.

And to put this into perspective, if someone doesn't have experience doing something, instead of ridiculing why don't you post a "how to guide".

If I were you (in the hair salon with the crying woman) I would've pulled her aside, and showed her how to manage her daughters hair on a day to day basis and show her what she needs to do in the future.

Be part of the solution, not fuel the problem.

White ladies with half black children? Don't know to take care of hair esspecially when is on the kinky side.

Well, what about the black mothers with black kids who have messed up hair. I see a lot of it lol.

All ya need is a some water, light grease, acholol-free gel, a brush, some barrets/hair ties.

White ladies with half black children? Don't know to take care of hair esspecially when is on the kinky side.

Im a white woman with a bi-racial daughter. I, for one, know how to do her hair. And I agree with "Thorne" completely!!!

Hair care help please?

Prenatal vitamins or vitamins for hair and nail growth. Be sure to you have a good diet too. Also get your dead ends trimed up that can also prevent growth as well.

Hair care help please?

Hair has a certain life to it, then naturally sheds by itself. Your hair may never get as long as you would like.

______________________________________...

First off, ALL the hair on your head is dead hair-no such thing as dead ends. Second, trimming split ends , that has nothing to do with hair growth. Hair grows out from the scalp, whatever is on the ends does not effect growth. It sounds like you have very nice hair. Just because it won't grow as long as you would like does not mean it can't be pretty.

Hair care products..?

I have short dyed black curly hair,

but i straighten it with ghds everyday,

What is the best shampoo and conditioner I should use to keep my hair in good condition but not make the dye fade?

also any heat care products to use before straightening?

Hair care products..?

I have long blond curly hair which i most of the times straighten.

I personally use Pantene Repair and Protect Shampoo and Conditioner, even though my hair is in excellent condition... it just gives that extra protection

When i do straighten, i use TreSemme Heat Defense smooth and soft Creme Serum after I have washed my hair, then dry my hair with the dryer and then straighten it. Hair looks fantastic and stays straight for at least two days, or until my next shower, which is every day!

Hair care products..?

Baby Bliss or Chi Straightening Iron. Chi Infrared shampoo and conditioner as well as Chi hair serum. I have thick curly hair but after using these products and once a month to the salon I have back length healthy straight hair with alot of shine..people comment how healthy and pretty it is. Nobody would guess I have naturally coarse and curly hair.

Suburban Blacks and less hair care?

I am Blk/Azn from the suburbs and I notice that a lot of suburban blks get hounded on bc of our hair or lack of doing it properly, but we tend to have better bodies than our counterparts who grew up elsewhere.

Is it whatever you value?

Suburban Blacks and less hair care?

I know what you're talking about.

I believe the girls in the suburbs are more likely to keep their hair natural. The girls in the hood use weave and fake stuff a lot more. Supposedly, we're supposed to think that using weave and fake crap is "taking better care of our hair". This is bullsh*t. Taking care of your hair includes YOUR hair first of all. So those in the suburbs that do the daily work to take care of their own hair get much love from me.

The girls in the hood are more likely to be fatter than their counterparts in the burbs. This is because they have poorer food choices and less activities to partake in. There is also more education available in the upkeep of the body in the burbs.

The above isn't meant to be my opinion of "all", but only the ones we are speaking of.

Suburban Blacks and less hair care?

i dont care about girls` hair, clothes and all that jazz...

body and personality are the stuff that counts

Suburban Blacks and less hair care?

Whattt? I don't get this question at all. Hair is hair and it looks good depending on how well you take care of it.

Suburban Blacks and less hair care?

That hair thing has so much to do with a loss of identity. The fashions and chemicals in use that have been derived from other cultures do not help either. There has always been more natural healthy ways to treat the hair of black people. Apart from all that, it is whatever you value to some degree. I bet you are beautiful and have a nice petite frame. Peace.

Suburban Blacks and less hair care?

Ahahaha, are you kidding? I see a lot of Black suburban woman with hair down their backs, but were I live it's usually natural/textured. Now I've been to the city and I've seen nothing but "relaxers gone wrong" and their hair looks burnt. Ether that or extensions. You may not have flashy fake hair but you probably have natural hair and it looks good. Black woman have every right to do what they want with their hair, but in my opinion they look better with textured/natural hair.

Suburban Blacks and less hair care?

LOL, why don't you just take care of your hair?

No correlation between SES and Hair care! LOL

Suburban Blacks and less hair care?

hey hun i'm blasian also!!!lol anyway i think we take better care of OUR hair..i mean all that weave and crap is just like "what? what is that?!?!" and my parents cook homecooked meals and many suburban families also have homecooked meals instead of KFC every night or other bought food...that makes a difference as well..

as far as value idk what you are talking about? value should be in a person and not where they are from okay?

Suburban Blacks and less hair care?

first of all i've never heard of an indictment being served on blk plp for doing their hair improperly unless it was by other blks and even then it is all subjective. And yes it is a value call because the value is given base upon what you like verses what others like.

Suburban Blacks and less hair care?

"You tend to have better bodies than your counterparts?" Yeah, I don't think so lol sweetie that's a joke.

Suburban Blacks and less hair care?

what is the first thing you see when you look at a person...the face the head..you take care of that part, the rest is pretty well taken care of.

Suburban Blacks and less hair care?

What?

Question for black women who prefer taking care of their hair at home.?

I absolutly love Infusium shampoo (moisture) and the conditioner. For a deep conditioning (once a month) I use Cholesterol and cap for a couple of hours. I use a light moisturizer lotion (any) BEFORE I blow dry and very little. NOT THE SPRAY. Yes keep the ends clipped. I do this religiously. My hair is a little longer than shoulder length, people always ask me if my hair is weave because its so shiny and has a lot of body..... I have to show them my scalp to prove its my hair lololol. You can get all of these products at wal-mart.

HOW SHOULD I GET MY HAIR CUT SO IT LOOKS HOT IT IS FRIZZY RIGHT nOW PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION!!!!?

You can continue to get highlights and a good trim bt most important is the products you use to care for your hair. You need something just to smooth down the frizz after you dry your hair. All salons should have a product you can use, continue getting different ones until you find the one that works the best for you. If you buy one, and after a couple of days dont like it, return it, and exchange for something else to you find one. Good Luck!!

HOW SHOULD I GET MY HAIR CUT SO IT LOOKS HOT IT IS FRIZZY RIGHT nOW PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION!!!!?

cut your hair in layers about three inch of layers. you would have so much fun with this hair style. you can curl only the bottom. when layered hair is curled you have no idea how hot it is. jsut like j-los hair or eca longoria. they all have layered hair and then curl them. well hope you find somthing and good luck.

HOW SHOULD I GET MY HAIR CUT SO IT LOOKS HOT IT IS FRIZZY RIGHT nOW PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION!!!!?

Yeah, I say you layer your hair and when you know its humid outside, wet it, straighten it-Even if it is Straight-and you should get BEACH Blonde Highlights!!!

HOW SHOULD I GET MY HAIR CUT SO IT LOOKS HOT IT IS FRIZZY RIGHT nOW PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION!!!!?

keep your beautiful, blue-eyed, long blond look. It is the most beautiful look there if it is natural to you.

Before you color you hair again this will end the frizzies. Buy a good quality conditioner like Paul Mitchell or Pantene (not suave or a bargain brand).

Wash your hair with it everyday for a week leave it in you hair then comb you hair out. Then rinse. Use Johnson %26amp; Johnson detangler if you need to before the conditioner. Combing is key and don't use too fine a comb . After a week, leave the conditoner on for a couple minutes in the shower then rise. Once your hair is de frizzed color it a natural blond tone and highlight is you wish.

Condition, stay blond and you will always be as beautiful as you feel and others will know it too.

What are some great hair sites w/ pictures for black females?

I have medium to long length black hair and it seems I cannot find a good hair site. I am not into the braids hairstyles, but more for a simple, casual look.

I will like to see more pics of black females with a medium to long razor cut, long bob, or something in between.

Also I am not a weave person, so braids and those other crazy do's won't work for me.

If their any great sites for great hair care or any supplements that can be taken that are great recommendations....I am open to read about them. Also I need to find a good salon in ATL, GA and also in Savannah, GA.

I think I have asked a lot out of you!!!!!

Why do so many black women have short hair?

I'm not trying to put black girls down cause I am one. But I just noticed that I have hardly seen many black gurls with REAL hair going much past the shoulders. I also noticed that a lot of my friends used to have hair down their backs when they were young but have extremly short hair now. I have seen tha trend a lot. Is it the perms. I think it is. Maybe it is lack of knowledge on how to care for black hair? Many people are not gentle and do tomany chemical and heat treaments to their hair. Black hair is gentle! I know it can't be genetics. so what is it?

Why do so many black women have short hair?

It is because of Hair Abuse! No other race of women does so many damaging things to their hair. Almost all black women in America either currently perm their hair or have done in the past. Typically a black women has her first perm when she is in her early teens and continues perming for the rest of her life. That is very very damaging to the hair. The hair still continues to grow but it breaks off as it grows which makes certain people believe that black women's hair does not grow.

IF black women's hair did not grow - why would so many of them go to the salon every 6 weeks for a relaxer touch up?? It's the new growth that they are getting relaxed time and time again.

I have long hair. It's all natural. I'm fully black. My hair is growing like weeds. When I used to use perms/relaxers on my hair, it would never grow log. Now it just won't stop growing. Go figure!

Why do so many black women have short hair?

OMG!!! Your Avatar has short hair, why don't you answer your own question??? Report It

Why do so many black women have short hair?

LOL above!! Report It

Why do so many black women have short hair?

Some people can be so ignorant and mean. It IS because of hair abuse. Most of not all of black women with short hair have perms. And those with REAL hair that閳ユ獨 long have virgin hair that閳ユ獨 pressed or flat ironed. Black women get their roots touched up every 4-6 weeks. Report It

Why do so many black women have short hair?

The average human hair grows only 1/2 inch per month so when we get our touch

ups it is overlapping previously permed hair and over-processing the hair causing serious breakage and brittle, weak hair. I've stopped perming my hair it閳ユ獨 grown over 6 inches in less than a year! And it閳ユ獨 still growing! Report It

Why do so many black women have short hair?

I think its a personal preference.

Why do so many black women have short hair?

Ummm I am black and I have long hair.... and it is real. I hope that answered your questions.

Why do so many black women have short hair?

mmmmhhhhhhh.........

Why do so many black women have short hair?

ummmm thats just you......im blak and my hairs up 2 my bakside

Why do so many black women have short hair?

its mostly hereditary. like hundered of years ago white people lived in the northern cold climates and needed long hair to help keep their bodies warm. thats why without shaving their legs theyre like... yeah. but closer to the eqater, black people didnt need as much protection so their hair didnt grow as fast because it wasnt needed. this combined with the chemicals that cause hair to break cause black girls to have short hair. i have found however that some of my black friends with long hair have long hair because they press, not perm, their hair and have been forever.

Why do so many black women have short hair?

a lot of black women try to put there on perms in and they need to get there hair done professional and they will not be overlapping there perm which can cause breakage to the hair.we are talking about chemical here its not ment to be taken lightly.

Why do so many black women have short hair?

I really shouldn't be commenting because I'm not black. But I have a lot of black women friends and from what I learned from them is that black hair is hard to handle, and when you comb it it breaks and even the hair rubbing on collars can make it break. I think any long hair is hard to keep because of split ends, etc. But I also agree with you, that the chemicals we use really wrecks havoc on our hair. That's my comment, but I don't really have an answer for you.

Why do so many black women have short hair?

I agree with the genetics theory but i also belive just as was stated before and u stated that it is the treatment of the hair and our own self delusions of wanting our hair to just like (white peoples) pardon me if that offended anyone so in essence we sabbotage ourselves trying to take the natural qualities out of our hair thanks for reading

Why do so many black women have short hair?

My hair is long. You do have a point though.A lot of the black kids at my school have short hair. Some have pretty long hair though.I don't know why some don't.I'm mixed,so I guess that maybe part of the reason why my hair is so long.

Why do so many black women have short hair?

Its the same for all women, hair is more manageable when its short. I think African hair is a little harder to manage, its sometimes frizzy. Corn rows and braids stay together better with African hair, its awesome.

Why do so many black women have short hair?

maybe because it is alot of work to take care of their long hair so they keep it short...it still looks nice short!

Why do so many black women have short hair?

i think it could be from too much product use. i mean heat treatments arent really good for any hair i can imagine what it could do to hair that is gentle...

Why do so many black women have short hair?

It is hard growing up and realizing that there are questions that has no 1 set answer.

Everyone has a personal choice.

Sometimes genetics or health issues are involved and limit what we would do if we could.

For instance, how many bald men would like to be bald?

I have thyroid problems, when it acts up, my hair falls out.

You just learn to live with the fact that you are you and you are different than other people.

That is why being human is so wonderful! We as a species, have some of the greatest diversity in the world.

Why do so many black women have short hair?

not so true i'm ablack girl and i get perms and my hair is past my butt, also it sometimes is genetics and sometimes thier hair just isn't healthy like getting trimmed and washed every 2 weeks or so. That's what i think.....

Why do so many black women have short hair?

Because a lot of black women does not like to have to put with their hair.

Why do so many black women have short hair?

relaxers...plus when you add tracks, or braids for a long period of time it pulls and puts tension on the hair. not to mention adding color, You would be amazed to watch the hair lift sooo quickly when you put bleach on relaxed hair-I don't think stylists are careful enough about that. I put hilights in a black girls hair that I worked with once and only used 10 vol peroxide, and really you have to take it out after like 10 mins tops. If you want healthy naturally long hair you have to kind of pick one-if your hair is natural then it will withstand the extensions and braids much better, maybe even a few hilights.

Why do so many black women have short hair?

If someone's genetics allows there hair to grow a fast rate and they have short hair- and they want to have long hair, the problem is damage. Most people use perms which totally destroy the hair. It cannot be changed back except by cutting and starting over. The problem is-most never make it through the growing out stage without getting frustrated and resorting back to chemically damaging the hair. Its an awful cycle. On top of that many black people think that because their hair is kinky that this means that they need the flat iron on high when a low or medium setting will get it straight.

Why do so many black women have short hair?

thats not true i am half black and i have hair almost down to my belt

Why do so many black women have short hair?

I think most of it is by choice. Anyone could grow they hair long if they really wanted to. Just like how people could be skinny if they wanted to.

Why do so many black women have short hair?

nature has given them short hair

Why do so many black women have short hair?

because it takes longer for black girls hair to grow out.

Why do so many black women have short hair?

In Africa it is custom or fashion for practical reasons ,their hair is very curly and very difficult to keep clean or neat if left to grow long ,unless it is braided, and when it is cut short it looks neat and needs little maintenance

Please Help -Ethnic Hair Care in China?

I'm thinking of going to China for a study abroad and I am worried that I will not be able to receieve proper hair care while I'm there. It is for a semester and a lot of damage can be done in that time if I cannot find somewhere/someone who can handle black hair. Does anyone know how I would find more information??

Please Help -Ethnic Hair Care in China?

Hello dear!

It depends on which city you go. Large cities have nothing less than large cities around the world. For a semester, you can get a couple of bottles you consider important and necessary, although you might find them in China!

The main problem is the quality of water, on which, of course you can't do much!

Enjoy your stay!

I'm a child mixed with black and indain what is the best hair care for me?

I have a friend who's the exact same thing is you. She uses hair olive oil from cvs and her hair looks great. She also uses water to style her hair.

I'm a child mixed with black and indain what is the best hair care for me?

Trial and error. I think you should explore different products and stick with the ones that work best for you.

I'm a child mixed with black and indain what is the best hair care for me?

I'm black, white, and Native so my hair's a hot mess too, lol.

Go to your hair dresser and see what she says. Try some of the stuff she recommends, and if that doesn't work try some new stuff out. It definitely is trial and error and it might take years. I'm 18 and I just now found a spritz that makes my hair softer and smoother while (and after) I straighten it.

Good luck hun!

Do box braids thin out black girls hair and how to take care of them when you get them?

Do they make the hair grow

Do box braids thin out black girls hair and how to take care of them when you get them?

You just have to be careful when putting in box braids, don't do them too small and tell the person to not braid too tight around the hair line, Alot of girls who put in box braids, feel once they put them in, they don't have to maintain it at home, you suppose to use oil sheen every single day, to keep the roots oiled, because when dust and dandruff start to build up, it gets locked in between your hair and the applied hair, so when its time to take out your braids your natural hair comes out with it. And also, dont box braid your hair month after month, take time out in between services, those are the two reasons why alot of females walk around with no edges, and yes it can make your hair grow, by braiding your hair, you give your hair a break from the heat, chemicals and the everyday hassle you do with your hair.

yes. it happened to my grandma.

How is black hair different from Caucasian hair?

I notice in stores that black people have a whole separate line of hair care from white people...shampoos, relaxers, oils, etc. What is the difference between the two types of hair?

How is black hair different from Caucasian hair?

It has to do with the texture of the hair.

How is black hair different from Caucasian hair?

Black hair is very tightly curled, and the circumference of the strand is much larger. It tends to be dryer and more fragile because of the spirals which prevent precious natural oils from reaching the ends of the hair.

How is black hair different from Caucasian hair?

Their individual hair strands are a lot finer than most white peoples hair..and their scalp usually does not porduce oil so there hair gets really dry and brittle very easily...but usually their hair is more elsatic than white peoples...It can take more heat, that where the oil products come in

How is black hair different from Caucasian hair?

Black hair is much coarser. They need special products to care for it. They also get much oilier scalps than we do, which is why they do ot shampoo daily.

How is black hair different from Caucasian hair?

Black hair when relaxed requires constant moisture and care. as compared to Caucasian hair. Also stores with black people products have braids, locks

How is black hair different from Caucasian hair?

Texture.

How is black hair different from Caucasian hair?

black peoples hair is nappy

What's the best way to take care of natural hair for black women?

My hair is extremely kinky, very curly, healthy, but very hard to comb. I do not choose to use chemicals, however, I do wear wigs and weaves. It's getting too hot to wear those now.

What's the best way to take care of natural hair for black women?

Do you shampoo wash? I'm natural, but I don't wash with 'poo, I wash with conditioner. VO5 conditioner.

Also, try putting your hair in natural styles, such as twists, braids, bantu knots, etc. They look good, and they help protect your hair from damage. And try not to comb often. I only comb about 3-4x/month. I have too much hair, I'd rip it all out with daily combing. Deep condition, at the very least, 2x/month. Natural black hair NEEDS moisture.

Hope that helped!

What's the best way to take care of natural hair for black women?

Just use a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, and use a leave in conditioner. keeping your hair moisturized is the key to non kinky hair. A wide tooth comb will be your best friend also. I know it's mine. anyways find a good gel that works for you to bring out your curls. and keep your scalped greased also. Hope I helped some. Please add me to your contacts and email me w/ any hair questions you have via yahoo answers.

What's the best way to take care of natural hair for black women?

wide tooth combs, only comb wet hair, try a braid set, it helps to tame it

leave in hair conditioners, reduce shampoo useage and try a conditioner wash instead, no greases, natural oils are better.

What's the best way to take care of natural hair for black women?

What's the best way to take care of natural hair for black women?

I want to know

but I'm White

I'm rely couldn't take care of my hair

What's the best way to take care of natural hair for black women?

Braids are great for the summer time. It sounds like you have really try hair, a good moisturizing conditioner can remedy that problem. Try Queen Helene Cholesterol conditioning cream( get this item from local drug store). Remember once you apply this on your hair use a wide tooth comb (while wet) to clear your hair out.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

Well, no... Their hair is different than other race's hair, so why shouldn't they be allowed to advertise hair care products designed specially for their hair type?

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

No whites do!

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

you can shut up too

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

No, why should it be?

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

Why would that be racist?

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

why should it be, whites have their own hair commericals

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

No, 95% of hair care products are made for white hair. We had a babysitter that was white use some of our products while watching our kid. She called crying asking what was in the shampoo and conditioner bottles. We simply explained to her how our hair was different. She is 1 white person that understands that it is a little harder to be black for several reasons. Many stores not in predom black areas don't sell our products. I grew dreads because there was no one in the city that I lived that could cut my hair right. Every black in the city had this problem. Some drive 75 miles each way to the nearest person, others did like me.

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

No it isn't racist. Black people have different hair issues and require different care. It's perfectly normal and understandable. Good luck. 2D

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

Are you serious...WTF

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

Are you crazy?

The majority of hair care commericals had ONLY White girls.

Just b/c Non-Blacks are finaly seeing Black people on tv, without Whites in it, they're claiming we're racist.

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

No, its understandable. If white people can advertise young white models in these hair ads then why can't black people also? They should have more ethnicitys presenting the hair ads though.

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

No, and why is this important?

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

no because all commercials on tv now or for white people and they know that black people can't use the majority of their hair products because they have different texture hair

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

I see that you don't watch TV all that much to be criticizing on black folk and their hair products. Would you use a black folk hair product on your hair ? No, nor would they use a white folk hair product on theirs. So, no, it's not racist. Their hair is far different than ours.

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

No, it isn't racist because only certain products work on our hair. White people can use just about anything to keep their hair in good shape.

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

No, it's not. Ultimately black people have hair like no other group of people so if you want to target people with kinky hair you are essentially targeting black people

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

well besides the fact that most shampoos work on white hair only, and they only advertise it for white people, I think black people should get their own also.

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

No because whites have their own as well. Different types of hair need different types of products.

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

Silly question!!!

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

I can understand your question, this political correctness has everyone confused. but you make a good point!

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

No because some black products cannot be used on caucasian hair.

Is it racist for black ppl to have their own hair care commercials?

No i don't...its stupid!

Vegan hair care for African American hair?

Does anyone know of any good vegan hair care products for my natural (no chemicals) black hair that will make it healthy? I stopped relaxing about three years ago. I keep my hair braided or in double strand twists for the most part, and I keep away from heat. But I still have lots of breakage, knots, and split ends, and my hair always feels..."crunchy" is my term but it's really thirsty hair. Plus if there are any natural women out there can you tell me about your regimen?

Vegan hair care for African American hair?

You can boil flax seeds...in water...just take a cupful of them...boil them in like...two or three cups of water..and it will make a gel..then you strain the flax seeds out of the mixture.

You can bottle the gel and use it on your hair. =o)

All natural AND vegan!! =o)

I hope this works for you!! Make sure to get the ends of your hair cut every few months to avoid split ends/or at least to get rid of them. Good luck!!

Vegan hair care for African American hair?

Hey there!

I've been natural for about 2 years now. I use pantene for natural hair (shampoo and conditioner) Then I just make sure my hair is moisturized by putting either pink oil or grease on it. I NEVER BLOW DRY IT! Because it makes your hair very dry. I let it air dry. After its almost dry I braid it up in box braids, tie it up, and I'm done!

Vegan hair care for African American hair?

I myself have have natural hair. I usually wear it braided or straighten. I do not have any chemicals in my hair. If I not have braids I usually wash and condition my hair every two weeks.I get my ends trimmed every 3 months. Here are some products that are great for natural African American hair.

Vegan hair care for African American hair?

Hi twisty! As a salon owner is a small college town I wanted to give my customers what they wanted...NATURAL , ORGANIC products. I went with a line called NexxusPhyto Organics. All natural products. I don't know about a web site but they have a treatment called Babasu Mud which is just the thing for krispy hair. Frequent TRIMS( meaning NO more than a 1/2 to 1/4 inch] will really help every 2 months or sooner if needed. Be firm in what you want..if your stylist doesn't understand the less is more approach then I would move on...good luck!

Damaged Brassy Hair:-( I got my hair professionally dyed a light blonde color and hated it, I didnt

At first, I wanted my hair a shade lighter than what I had it!! So I decided to do it myslef with a home kit to save more money. Unfortuanately my hair turned bright orange. So I went to the salon and they dyed it for me and it is close to my hair color which is a chesnut brown but it is brassy and has black all mixed in. Also my hair feels drying and brittle. My scalp also feels tender. Should I cut my hair or just let it grow out. Is there any shampoos, conditioners, etc to take out the brassiness and restore my damaged hair? Or I just have to let it grow out? Is my hair going to fall out? Is is permately damaged? Is there any proper way to take care of hair the is damaged so I wont have to cut my hair. How long will it take for my hair to go back to normal? I have mixed hair! Thank You!!! Will the maynonaise conditioner work to restore the damage?

Damaged Brassy Hair:-( I got my hair professionally dyed a light blonde color and hated it, I didnt want this

Shimmer Lights is a purple shampoo that might work for the brassiness. You can find it at most drug stores or Sally Beauty Supply.

Damaged Brassy Hair:-( I got my hair professionally dyed a light blonde color and hated it, I didnt want this

use a hot oil treatment to replenish your hair.

Damaged Brassy Hair:-( I got my hair professionally dyed a light blonde color and hated it, I didnt want this

It's VERY hard to for a hair dresser to fix your hair after you've box dyed it... box dye - very bad, and very hard to get out.

All is not lost, I go to a very expensive salon, and it it is worth it, you should switch salons and find out which one is the BEST near you.

Get some salon-quality shampoos that will save your hair... Pureology Hydration is AMAZING...sold in most salons. Its about 40 dollars, but will last FOREVER. its amazing..

Use a good shampoo and conditoner and dont dye your hair again for awhile. Then, after about 6 weeks, go back (to a better salon) for a colour correction.

Also, leave your conditioner on for longer...about 20 mins...and wrap your hair in towel. Its good for deep conditioning.

Dont do the mayonnaise thing...mayonnaise stinks and doesnt really improve your hair that much.

Damaged Brassy Hair:-( I got my hair professionally dyed a light blonde color and hated it, I didnt want this

unfortunatly, once hair is that damaged there is not much u can do to save it. i recomentd a high quality deep conditioner. i kno u dont want to but u might want to get ur hair cut short. that way new healthy hair will grow out and once its long enough u can cut off the dammaged ends that u didnt get off wen u got it cut short. this next thing is very important. DO NOT DYE YOUR HAIR AGAIN!! thats wats damaging it anding making it look brassy. also if ur hair is real damages dont blow dry streighen of curl ur hair. let it go natural and get a shampoo for damamged hair....garnie helped me and it not that xpensiv...hope that helps!

Damaged Brassy Hair:-( I got my hair professionally dyed a light blonde color and hated it, I didnt want this

No hun,you don't have to cut it,just be very patitent with it now every day you're going to have to put a LOT of conditioner, let it be inyour hair for longer time and then rinse it,then you can get any leave on condition,it works for mr everytime i have to do my hair i put on the leave on condition and voila!!!nice and softthe hair mayo works too but i think you can only use it once or twice a week, good luck.

Damaged Brassy Hair:-( I got my hair professionally dyed a light blonde color and hated it, I didnt want this

do not dye your hair again,

there ain't much you can do about the colour but you can put olive oil in your hair to make your hair less dry and softer, and yes mayonnaise dose work as a good conditioner, but it smells

Damaged Brassy Hair:-( I got my hair professionally dyed a light blonde color and hated it, I didnt want this

first of all, calm down before you do anything else you'll regret. your hair is damaged from all the processes, but not destroyed. don't use home treatements! get a good conditioner (not hot oil because your hair is too fragile) and condition it well and fequently - it is craving moisture! next, to cut the brassiness, get a shampoo that will add blue - there are a number of varieties available. the blue will help to counteract the brass color. the black parts are because your hair was too dry before the salon got a hold of it, so it grabbed color too quickly. if the condition and texture doesn't begin to improve after about a week or two, you may want to get a couple inches cut off. frequent trims might be more manageable than wacking it all off. also, if the health of your hair is easy to restore you can try another -VERY MILD- process in the future to cut the brassiness, just as semi-perm (which can only darken) or tint to slightly alter the tone. good luck.

Damaged Brassy Hair:-( I got my hair professionally dyed a light blonde color and hated it, I didnt want this

You cannot re color it, unless to go to a very high end salon who may be able to fix it. You will know they are good if they say no! Aside from that you will have to trim it as much as you can, and do it every 4 weeks until the worst is grown out. In the meantime used the best treatments you can once a week and try not to wash or brush it too much. Keep it in a pony tail. Use a baby shampoo and a good conditioner. Don't rub too much.

I was a hair model for years and had my hair ruined more times than I can remember. Time is the only thing that will help. Do not put any chemicals on it at all until it is grown out!

Damaged Brassy Hair:-( I got my hair professionally dyed a light blonde color and hated it, I didnt want this

Okay, sorry to hear about your salon experience. Some of the orange- brassy color should of gently been removed prior to recoloring with a semi- perm product. Conditioning designed to work with hair color could of also been applied to help protect the hair. My guess is that they threw a perm too dark of color over the whole thing with 20 vol and added heat. Not a good idea. Since no bleach was involved I doubt your hair is going to fall out, is it not permanently damaged, your hair will not go back to normal on it's own until it grows out. Here is the good news. A moisture and protein conditioner such as Redken Extreme will help you in two ways. It will strengthen your hair and slightly pull out some of the cruddy too dark of color. Follow directions- more is wasteful not helpful. Find a color correction specialist. When your hair is able to handle it they can remove a little of the dark brassy and tone with a gentle cool semi perm color.
