HELP! My hair is a couple inches below my shoulder, fine and very damaged. Once a year, for the past 8 years I cut it off to my earlobes thinking I'm cutting away the damage. But for some reason, the damage comes right back, starting at the same place, then I'm back cutting it again. From the roots down about 2-3 inches doesn't look to be damaged. The rest is super frizzy, breaks and looks awful. I only get my hair relaxed and when it's wet, it looks as if it's not relaxed at all. Looks like virgin hair. My mom's a beautician and I've been to other beauticians and they just can't seem to figure out what's wrong. They've tried this and that, the "best shampoos and conditioners", but it's still the same. I can remember around the time it first became damaged I was using a high frequency comb (scalp massager). I was wondering if this is what could have caused this damage. Anyone know what could possibly be the problem and how I can get my hair back healthy? Or is this permanent damage?

ok if the damage is at the bottom, then thats because you might be using the wrong hair produsts, so much straightening and blow drying. sometimes it is just how u treat your hair.

If your hair becomes damaged every time, you're doing something that it doesn't like. It doesn't grow out damaged - it becomes that way over time.
On mine, the only thing that worked when I relaxed it was to do hot oil treatment once a week. The relaxer is what did mine in, but I wanted it badly enough that I would spend the time to try to "heal" my hair as much as possible. I used VO5 that I would squish out into a cup and put in the microwave for a minute to liquify it. Then glop it on, and put Saran wrap over it and go read a book or watch a movie for a couple of hours. Then wash it twice with baby shampoo, then use a deep conditioner on it. Lot of work, but it salvaged my hair.
Now I just roll it on pretty big rollers with a gel, and wear it only 3" long - a lot less trouble, and it looks pretty good.

put a relaxer every 3 to 4 months.
never flat iron it.
and roller wrap it and sit under the drier
put a protein and cholestrol treatment every week

BEEN THERE DONE THAT!
You do not take care of your hair. Simple. You are supposed to get hot oil treatments WEEKLY along with a deep condition.

It really works , I grew my hair 3 in a less than a MONTH !!! and some parts of my hair haven't gown that long in my whole life ( I'm 12 years old .) The oil is completely natural. I have seen less hair in my comb after using it and my hair is no longer damaged. it's shinny and full of luster.
