I need some hair help! Please help me!?

I am white and my daughter is black.(mixed) She is 4 and her hair is out of control because I dont know how to take care of it. She is a very beautiful little girl but with her hair the way it is, she needs me to make her hair look better. Could someone give me some tips that I could do to tame her hair?

Also I was wondering If there was a website or something I could go to, to look up haircuts and styles for african american hair. I was thinking about getting her hair cut to start over and I need some pictures to look at. Would really appreciate it!

I need some hair help! Please help me!?

I'm black mixed, and I have a daughter who is 3 and her father is white. She has mid-back length hair that is all over the place when she wakes up in the morning. Its a curly grade, not frizzy or "nappy" but it is still kind of... lol! What I do is use a wide tooth comb and a little hair lotion like BB, its a really good brand for little kids, and a bit of spray on detangler like Just For Me. First I spray on the detangler, then comb from the ends of her hair and work my way through until all of the tangles are out. After that I put in the hair lotion and she has perfect spirials that need no more styling unless I choose to put her hair in a ponytail or two french braids. Mixed race hair isn't all that much of a matter, its only becomes an obstacle if you see it as one. Also, don't wash her hair everyday, that only incerases the dryness, if you rinse it and condition it every other night that should suffice.

I need some hair help! Please help me!?

your best bet might be to go to a professional hair salon that specializes in black hair care... its hard to say without seeing your daughters actual hair (how kinky or curly it is etc), but if they see it they can recommend products that would work for her, or styles that you can do at home. good luck!

I need some hair help! Please help me!?

At Wal Mart there is an "ethnic" i.e. black hair section. Also some of my friends use some coconut oil stuff.

I need some hair help! Please help me!?

Try conditioner and a little trim and if that isn't enough you can purchase stuff that is good at control that texture hair. Call a salon that works with that type of hair. Go to a supply store and ask what products you can use. Good Luck.

I need some hair help! Please help me!?

Are there any beauticians in your area that do african/american hair? I had a friend who has mixed kids-she would go to Wal-Mart to get some kind of gel or something to put in their hair after she washed their hair. I'm sorry I don't know exactly what product she used.

I need some hair help! Please help me!?

Im mixed race too but make sure you comb her hair! even though its painful for her believe me i would know comb it! and never leave it dry get pomades and creams to bring out the curls

%26amp; dont go to a normal hairdresser got to a black hairdressers because they have more of idea of what to do

are you with her dad still? cos if you are ask the family about hair and what to do etc

I need some hair help! Please help me!?

I think it's best to go to bring her to a salon. There may be some treatment that can be done to tame her hair :)

I need some hair help! Please help me!?

You could brid it in tight braids to tame it or put it in a tight pony tail just to pull it back. look up braiding because there is a ton of stuff that you could do to it.

Does anyone have my type of hair? Please help me!?

I am a mixture of Black, Cuban, and Asian and I have the weirdest hair ever. I have NEVER met anyone with my type of hair and it is really hard to find products that work for me. My hair is wavy, but it is kind of like a tight wave. It looks kind of like when you braid your hair over night, and unbraid it the next day. That type of wavy, but kind of small and consistent from the roots. But on the back of my head, my hair curls up into big bouncy curls. It is kind of like a spiral... besides it is at the very bottom. For instance, if I was to pull my hair up, you would see a bunch of curls in the back,

Now, what type of hair is this and how can I take care of it?! And is it possible that I have a mixture of all the different types of hair (besides straight)?

Does anyone have my type of hair? Please help me!?

Well i dont think i can help u completley but im russian and black and i guess my hair is a little "weirder" too. Some days its exremnly curly an other days it more wavy.My sissters hair is different though. Its so beautiful and kinky sometimes ,spiral curles and other times it looks like she hasnt had a perm in months! What determines her hair (and also mine ) is how we wash it !!!! Im not sure if ive ever seen hair like yours but i would sugest washing it with a super moisturising shampoo(like pantene) and afterwards using a GOOD conditioner(pantene has good ones as well) and rinsing it out not completly but that your hair feels soft(rinse it out with cold COLD water!!) .Then to make it look even better you can use some hair products by Sunsilk to keep frizz away. This shuld make the most beautiful out of your georgeous hair !!!!

Does anyone have my type of hair? Please help me!?

It would be put in the curly catagory. If your hair is dry and frizz you need to condition it. With cholestrol treatments. This will help if you have dry hair and scalp. If your hair is ok and the structure is the onlything you are worried about then try a relaxer.

Does anyone have my type of hair? Please help me!?

if i was you, i would make my hair currlyer or straight...one of them both.. did you try some mouse to make you curls looke more alive? i donno.. i have something like your hair.. and its really hard to make it look good.. i had it really long and it was straight... now i have it shorter and its all wavy.. and curly.. and odd... i'm quite never pleased with it !! i usually straighten it but that is really bad for my hair so i want to do it less.. good luck :P

What's the best way to care for my 7 year old (bl/wh) black thick dry curly hair?

Moisturize it with castor oil or safflower oil when combing it daily. Keep it twisted up or braided into ponytails to prevent tangles. And DO NOT use any moisturizer on her hair that has mineral oil or petroleum. Those things will manage the hair temporarily, but will cause dryness and breakage in the long term.

Another thing that helps me is to only wash once a week but condition as often as you'd like. Combing the hair in the shower while conditioner is on it makes it easier to comb through once the hair is rinsed out and she gets out.

What's the best way to care for my 7 year old (bl/wh) black thick dry curly hair?

Garnier Fructis Curl and Shine. It moisturizes dry frizzy curly or wavy hair. (Shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner) It works great!

http://www.garnierfructisusa.com/

What's the best way to care for my 7 year old (bl/wh) black thick dry curly hair?

I have the same type of hair (but different color!). I wash once a week and condition any time I'm in the shower with my hair down. I only use a comb, never a brush and I comb conditioner through in the shower and then massage oil (usually safflower cuz it works like olive but doesn't smell!!!!) to the tips of my hair. I pick a hairstyle and try to wear it for as long as I can at a time (braids, curls, weave, ponytail, bun, etc.) because the more I try to style my hair the messier it gets.

I love the Pantene Time Renewal deep conditioner (in a tub) as well as ION products.

Should i dye my hair brown?

i like dying my hair. my natural color is boring. its like a shade lighter then black (maybe too) its like as dark as brown can go. so i dont really like it too much. i wouldnt go blonde though. the roots would show bad and i would look weird.

this is sorta my natura color : http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z241/...

thats whe i like just turned 13. but now i'm 14 and my mom can care less if i dye my hair. she wants me to go blonde lol.

this is me with red hair: http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z241/...

and this is a diffrent red color: http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z241/...

my hairs kinda tat color now. what color should i try next? i wanna try like honey brown. but it wouldnt show up on my hair it would go red and darkish. is there like a good brand that doesnt fade quickly? i want like hard core hair dye.

thanks!

Should i dye my hair brown?

I like the first and last 2 pics of you. Very nice colors. I know what you mean about hair color, I can't stop changing mine. I dye it dark, then want highlights, then get sick of them and dye it again. My hair has been EVERY color but silver. I will wait until I am old for that!

Should i dye my hair brown?

i actually really like the last red on you, it fites you well...but that just my opinion

Should i dye my hair brown?

mm i think you looked better with black hair, but I think a nice shiny dark brown will work too. But definitely not the red color

Should i dye my hair brown?

i think you should and brown is okay mabe brown and gold highlights would look good on you

Should i dye my hair brown?

your messing up your hair soon you will turn bold like britney spears then you can change your hair color(by wearing wigs)..the first and last pik you look nice but the middle doesnt go with you..good luck

Should i dye my hair brown?

i think you looked the best with your natural hair color.

Should i dye my hair brown?

Give your self high lights it does more for you then dying sometimes ..i have done it for years! You can use several different shades it will be beautiful!

Should i dye my hair brown?

I think either way it does not matter i mean you are really pretty

Should i dye my hair brown?

the last brown looked really nice. If you look at the picture it matches your eye color, and it looks very beautiful =-)

Should i dye my hair brown?

maybe some highlights that would look pretty..

Should i dye my hair brown?

Well, dying hair is part of the fad but what I would like to suggest is ... natural is beautiful. Any natural part of the body when undergoes a process may lost its natural elements which are necessary to carry-on its natural look. Be it, anyway its your personality that really counts and not the color of your hair.

Should i dye my hair brown?

any color would be fine, molly.

Should i dye my hair brown?

bleach it then go a honey brown

Should i dye my hair brown?

trust me ive had my hair all kinda colors and red always fades out real bad. even the blue i put in mine, and green, stayed way better then red did. if i was u tho id dye it back to black. u looked the best in the 1st pic.

Should i dye my hair brown?

The last one looks dope. It looks sick.

Should i dye my hair brown?

I like your natural color best, but the last red looks good too.

A 'hard-core stay in dye' that I would recommend would be Garnier Nutrisse. Lasts a loooong time between colorings and it has avacado oil too.

Should i dye my hair brown?

i think you looked better with black hair..

Should i dye my hair brown?

i love the 3rd color!! it looks really pretty with your skin tone, and your eyes.

^-^

Should i dye my hair brown?

They all look very similar to me. I like the first one and especially the last one.

Should i dye my hair brown?

i think you would look better with your natural hair color.....but girls never listen to guys lol go with blue or something LMAO! I dare you

A QUESTION for BLACK PEOPLE?

OR WHO EVER I DONT CARE

SO RECENTLY IN POST SOME GUY SAID BLACK PEOPLE ARE JEALOUS CAUSE HE HAS "GOOD HAIR"

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

I FIND THAT VERY IGNORANT...

WHAT MAKES CURLY HAIR "GOOD" AND NATURAL KINKY HAIR "BAD"?

A QUESTION for BLACK PEOPLE?

girl, people like this ARE ignorant

just get 2 points for telling them so and go on

as far as the good bad thing, this is yet ANOTHER problem that had its beginnings in slavery

maybe you don't realize it or know but to the rest of society, and to our people who have internalized this ignorance, the closer features or hair texture you have to non black people, the "better" you supposedly are

growing up ignorant people (of all colors) told me how special I was because I had straight hair and green eyes

it is sad...just teach your children better, the way my parents taught me

A QUESTION for BLACK PEOPLE?

curly hair is not better than kinky hair

A QUESTION for BLACK PEOPLE?

ones brushable and the others not????

A QUESTION for BLACK PEOPLE?

If you think your hair is good, than you have good hair. I have met blond people with kinky hair, is their hair good because they are white. We are a mixed nation, unfortunately, the devil is the one controlling the minds of people, making everyone fight over stupid issues. We should be standing up and fighting for our rights in this country, that we are losing.

Peace!

A QUESTION for BLACK PEOPLE?

Well, that is ignorant because what constitutes as "good" hair, for that matter what is "bad" hair. Personally, I think good hair is hair that is healthy, maintained, and styled well no matter what the texture, type, style, or all natural. Secondly, kinky and curly hair is kind of the same thing, curly hair is loose curls and kinky hair is tight curls, so they are both curly. Unfortunately, it is one of those debates about physical features like skin shade.

What do you think of any age with PINK/GREEN/BLUE HAIR?

And:

Does the color matter (pink/green /blue/old lady shades of blue %26amp; purple?

How about black, hispanic, or white - does it matter?

Is it any different if the person is 15 or 30?

What does it say to you when you see it?

WHY DO YOU CARE WHAT *COLOR SOMEONE ELSES HAIR IS*? Seriously.

That is what I want to know.

What do you think of any age with PINK/GREEN/BLUE HAIR?

Thanks for making me feel REALLY old! When you asked about any age I thought you were referring to ages between 15 and 85, not 15 and 30.

In my 48 years I've been blonde, brunette, ginger, brunette with fluro pink and green highlights (long time ago), orange (bad hair colour mistake), jet black, blue (Magic silver white days), green (mistake again with home hair colour job).

If the person carries the hair colour with confidence, I'm with them 100%.

That is what you want to know and that is what I have to say.

What do you think of any age with PINK/GREEN/BLUE HAIR?

I've no problem if it is a solid colour, not a single streak though, that looks like the person walked under a ladder and paint fell on them. I went into a shop once and the girl behind the counter had long 'marge simpson' blue hair. I'm not sure if it was a wig or dyed but it looked really good. It was down to her lower back and straight.

What do you think of any age with PINK/GREEN/BLUE HAIR?

"Care" in what sense? It's hard not to make aesthetic judgments as you walk along the street. You do notice if someone's hair, clothes, etc, are to your taste or not. I wouldn't -say- anything, though. And I don't laugh aloud.

What do you think of any age with PINK/GREEN/BLUE HAIR?

I think it's just hair...

it's colour....

it's like colouring on a sheet....who cares it's JUST COLOUR!!!

and it's not gunna last forever.

I seriously don't understand why people have a problem with coloured hair.

What do you think of any age with PINK/GREEN/BLUE HAIR?

I don't understand why people see coloring hair as any different than painting fingernails, etc. I admit, I am sometimes "startled" to see someone with a unique haircolor, but I find it more interesting than anything else.

What do you think of any age with PINK/GREEN/BLUE HAIR?

To each his own. I don't care if someone wants to die his or her hair blue with purple stripes--it's not on top of my head, so why should I worry about it? I'm more concerned with how people behave/act--not their hair color.

What do you think of any age with PINK/GREEN/BLUE HAIR?

it doesnt matter how old you are or what your race is.

its expressing yourself =D

i do care what color people's hair is, because when someone dyes their hair i have to tell them how much i love it!

but i mean, if you are a baby, like younger than 7, DONT DYE YOUR HAIR

other than that its cool =D

i've never seen a black or hispanic person with colorful hair, just blonde and orange highlights.

but i would encourage anyone to dye their hair if they really wanna

What do you think of any age with PINK/GREEN/BLUE HAIR?

cool

Hair color help?

hair type and length takes a BIG part in choosing your color. the absolute BEST idea is to go to a PRO-FES-IN-AL salon and get it done there, they will work their magic. good luck, i would goblack, but only do black at a salon if you actualy want it to look like black,,, trust me....

Hair color help?

i wouldnt go black, maybe like a dark brown, black might make you look washed out.

Bleaching faded black hair?

My friends have done it with their very dark brown and black hair, so I thought I'd give it a try. I don't care if I ruin my hair. It's insanely healthy, only been dyed once so if it ends up a bad color, I'll just dye it black again and let that take over, but I was wondering how much hair bleach I would need, not regular bleach, to get my hair from a fading black, with brown roots almost half way grown to a bleach yellow.

I heard it goes from stages of orange, yellow to white. I just want to get it to yellow so I can dye it over with a dirty blonde.

How much hair bleach would I need and how difficult is this process?

I don't have the money for a salon, and I'm not that desperate. My hair isn't everything. I just want a change.

Bleaching faded black hair?

ok i have a friend who did it and it looks good but it is yellow not blonde. I suggest that u should go get it done professionally. just in case.

Bleaching faded black hair?

The amount of bleach you need will depend on your length and thickness not your color. You will need to use a 30 volume developer. Then you just have to leave it on and checkit periodicly till it is the shade you want. It may take an hour or more. Just keep an eye on it. Then like you said go over it with the dirty blonde following those directions. Also, it will help protect your hair if you don't wash it for a day or two before you bleach it then your natural oils take care of your hair a little. You still need to condition like crazy after.

Hair Extension Care?

I'm getting long, black, and blonde hair extensions from Sally's Beauty supply store, and my friend who is in cosmotology is going to put them in for me with glue. Is there a better way to put them in? I hear glue is a messy choice, and it's hard to take out. My hair is thin, and dyed black, so i dont want any color or hair damage afterwards. when i get them in, how do i take care of my own hair while taking care of the extensions? do they need to have seperate attention? what about in the shower? do i need a special shampoo? is there other alternatives that are easier than glue? I hear when african-american girls get weaves they have to put baby oil on them to keep them from drying them out, does the same apply to extensions?

Hair Extension Care?

I would not recommend the glue. It dosen't last long and ur pieces can get pulled out or fall out if brushing too hard. LOL. I personally get a sew-in. And with the glue it is hard to wash out.

And if u buy good (expensive) hair u wont need to put anything on it to keep it from drying out. Buy hair that is $40 and up and u wont have any problems with it.

Hair Extension Care?

African Americans do not use oil to maintain their extensions they use mouse, and you will use mouse to maintain yours. Also, the best way to put your extensions in is through the sewing process. The hair is cornrolled and then weaved, or sewed into the cornrow. The hair that you will be using is synthetic, it is advertised as human however, unless you pay 100.00 dollars or more for the hair, it is symthetic. So, you can not wash it everyday. Actually, you can not wash it at all. Causian hair can be washed everyday, to rid oil. However, symthetic hair doesn't have it. Good luck.

Question about looks and society - and guys! lol =D Thanks?

To everyone out there at yahoo answers 閳?this is a question I actually want you to put some thought into before answering.

I was having a chat with two of my cousins and a guy friend the other day, and I would like to know which of the three girls sounds the hottest. (No this is not one of those vain questions. Trust me it閳ユ獨 more philosophical then it seems).

The first girl is 5閳? and weighs about 100 pounds on the dot. Very thin and bony, but that is considered 閳ユ笅n閳?at her school. She has fake tan skin and bleached blonde hair with 4 inch hair extentions and fake nails. She wears a lot of make up and is very high maintence. 椋?measurements = 32 B 閳?23 閳?32

The second girl is 5閳? and weighs about 120 pounds. She has kind of flabby arms and a bit of a stomach and has pale skin with medium length grungy beach blonde hair and small blue eyes. She only wears black eyeliner and could care less about fashion. 椋?measurements = 32 A 閳?30 閳?38

The third girl is 4閳?1 and weighs exactly 132 pounds. She is curvy and has a little bit of a stomach. She has a light tan and chest length straight natural black hair and small Asian like caramel brown eyes. She only ever wears mascara and her fashion style is tribal meets surfer girl. 椋?measurements = 38 DD 閳?31 閳?37

Which girl seems the most physically attractive to you? What is good about all them? What could they all change? And which on do you think is the most accepted and least accepted by society?

Question about looks and society - and guys! lol =D Thanks?

I would say the second and third girl because i HATE fake people or people who get dolle dup for school etc.

Question about looks and society - and guys! lol =D Thanks?

Number 2 is good. Ok height, a little bottom heavy but that is better than the fat one or the anorexic one.

Question about looks and society - and guys! lol =D Thanks?

Well, I'm a girl, so maybe that invalidates my opinion but...

Not the first one, too fake. The second one sounds alright...I think girls with black eyeliner can look scary sometimes though. The last girl is a little short, but I don't know how old she is. I like the natural hair and the natural tan for sure. I assume the 38DD is a chest measurement? That's a little big for someone so small...but aside from that, she seems good too.

Question about looks and society - and guys! lol =D Thanks?

Impossible to do much with a poll on this one. Of the three of these I'd take the breastless one, but I suspect that most guys wouldn't look at her if she's a 32A.

Question about looks and society - and guys! lol =D Thanks?

Hi there,

I am a girl and not exactly sure if your looking for girl answers also however I shall voice my opinion.

The first girl seems fake and doesn't want people to see her for who she really is, and if I was a guy I wouldn't find this type of girl attractive at all.

The second girl, sounds like me so I feel as if I can't answer this one.

The third girl, I wouldn't find attractive..

The most accepted girls I would think be the first and second girl, because these days looks matter not personality. Like at school, the first girl would be accepted because she has beautiful hair, nails and not fat, and however shes fake shes hiding the real her! and the last girl I'd have to say would be least accepted because she isn't as attractive..

Sorry its all abit messed up there, but theres my opinion!!

Hope this helped.

Question about looks and society - and guys! lol =D Thanks?

they are probably all accepted by their own people. i like the third girl....she's my kind of girl and a curvy woman is more accepted in my neighbourhood..

Question about looks and society - and guys! lol =D Thanks?

number two cuz she isn't superficial and she isn't all about her

Question about looks and society - and guys! lol =D Thanks?

The third girl seems to be sexy and hot.

Question about looks and society - and guys! lol =D Thanks?

I think the one who will be seen as the most attractive will be the one who is confident, down to earth, and out-going.

Question about looks and society - and guys! lol =D Thanks?

number two or three, but there is more to this then just looks, the personality of each of you could sway a guy one way or the other as well.

What is the best black hair dye brand that does not fade or dries out your hair?

Hi :), my hair is really thin and i'm very cautious about using harsh products on my hair, but i really want to dye my hair jet black and have it last because i don't plan to dye my hair anymore. My hair is already black but its dull and in the light it looks brownish on some parts because i had red highlights before and hated it and dyed it all black but it faded =( and i used a permanent hair color too that i bought from Sally's Beauty (it had no ammonia, so thats probably why it faded) Anyways so i want to dye it once again very pitch black and want to know what is a good black hair color brand that does not fade, keeps it shiny, and doesn't dry out the hair. And i don't care if it looks fake, i like that look, i don't want no natural dull looking black... suggustions pleasssse!!!!

What is the best black hair dye brand that does not fade or dries out your hair?

Please consider going to a professional! Black haircolor is very hard to get, even for professionals. If you have any light pieces of hair and go black, it turns green! (too long to explain why, but all colorists know this!) Make sure you are using a good shampoo, a professional one for color treated hair. And, don't shampoo every day. This will dry out your hair, and fade the color faster. Use a little gloss every day, it will really help with the shine!

If you really can't afford going to a salon, go to a cosmetology school. It is less expensive, and it's supervised by more than one professional!

What is the best black hair dye brand that does not fade or dries out your hair?

Beijing hair dye (Chinese)

Only if you want to keep the black hair for a while

Plus if you have highlights it will only might become green if you start the transition from a blonde to black, but since its like a dark brown it shouldn't have a problem going to black with this product. Only problem would be having to wait until your hair grew out the color to change it. That's when you'll have difficulty with your color while its still there, Black is hard to get out.

But the reason why I"m giving you this information is because you asked for but when dealing with chemicals always consult a specialist especially when is such a dramatic change.

What is the best black hair dye brand that does not fade or dries out your hair?

i used to dye my hair black and i used herbal essence. it kept my very thin hair soft and healthy

What is the best black hair dye brand that does not fade or dries out your hair?

visit the following url

What is the best black hair dye brand that does not fade or dries out your hair?

go to a salon and ask what to do because it all depends

What is the best black hair dye brand that does not fade or dries out your hair?

I agree with Cher's answer. Go have it done professionally. You will have better quality products, plus a stylist can avoid any funky colors that may arise by doing it at home, like green or blue hair.

A hair color with no ammonia is probably a semi-permanent color which is designed to gradually wash out, so that is probably why it did. However you don't want something that's too high in ammonia either, because it's more damaging to your hair.

All colored hair, whether done at home or professionally, looks dull from time to time, so that's why it's important to use a shampoo and conditioner for colored hair as well, because it will help maintain moisture balance in your hair, and it will also protect your color from fading as quickly.

My salon uses Paul Mitchell color. I love it and live by it... it has the least amount of ammonia possible to do it's job but no more. Permanent hair color must have at least *some* ammonia in it to do it's job properly, but as I said, many hair colors put in way more than what is needed to help speed up processing time (this is why many store bought colors process in 10-15 minutes) PM color also has a beeswax base which is also more conditioning on your hair, and therefore will help with shine.

Call around and find a salon in your area that uses Paul Mitchell color. I guarantee you will love it!!!

Hope this helps you! Good luck!

What is the best black hair dye brand that does not fade or dries out your hair?

I've been dying my medium/dark brown hair black for a couple years now and lately I've been using Revlon Colorsilk. It's fairly inexpensive, has no ammonia, and is permanent. I've not had any problems with fading, but it could be different for everyone. And you can choose from natural black or blue black.

I like Revlon Colorist as well, but it costs considerably more than other brands. I do think it does a nice job though, and doesn't stain my scalp and head. It also comes with a weekly color-depositing conditioner.

To keep it looking nice in between coloring you could try Pantene Midnight Expressions (there's both a shampoo and a conditioner). If you find your hair is drying out you could try something like a weekly hot oil treatment (Tresemme makes a decent one) - and there are other products out there to help hydrate your hair.

People who can do hair (black sisters!)?

I have long thick curly hair that is out of control I have tried relaxers, texutrizers, and tried to be natural for a year and NOTHING seems to work! I just want to take care of my hair without people helping me :( I want my hair to become like this

http://www.curly-hair-styles-magazine.co...

Can you give step by step instructions and the products to use thanks because I am completely clueless

ps could it be possible that it could be easy to maintain?

People who can do hair (black sisters!)?

Actually, her curls look like that naturally.

She is French, of Creole origin (mixed black and white, and maybe other origins as well).

People who can do hair (black sisters!)?

this is a hard question to answer not knowing exactly how the texture of your hair is but my suggestion is to do knots all over your head and let it dry and then you can separate them to define the curls and add fullness and to do the knots you want to take about a 3 inch section of hair and some Paul Mitchell foaming pomade and begin twisting the hair until it forms a coil and twist it around into a circle and put a pin In it and continue around your whole head and let them dry then you would just tie it at night with a bonnet and spray with oil and holding spray in morning

People who can do hair (black sisters!)?

This may help, I love the look. Wash and condition. Use a leave in conditoner Infusium 23. Then use Wave Nouveau Moisturizing Finish Lotion, or S Curl or BB Mositurizing then seal it with an oil like Olive, Castor, Wildhairgrowth, Jojoba, Almond, Peppermint..it seals the moist in. While adding a few of the products scrunch your hair. It takes some works so don't give up. Then let it air dry. You can tie it back with a scraf if you like.

Or you can try this one after adding all products do 4 or 6 cornrolls from the front to the back. Air dry if you can wait.

Deep condition with Lekair Cholestrol twice a week.

I a not sure how often you should clarify, but Suave has a clarifying shampoo.

Also, some days walk around with a plastic cap on your head after you have put in your moisturizers and oils. If your hair is thick then it probably soaks up a lot of products. You can use Olive oil, probably some is in the kitchen cabinet.

You can mix products together like castor oil, in BB moisturizing, add some water...you have to find out what your likes...check out longhaircare.com and my favorite blackhairmedia.

People who can do hair (black sisters!)?

I agree with Offkey...it would be easier if we saw a picture of how your haor is like ....

Growing black hair???

well i had micros and my hair broke off, so i got it cut short and have been taking care of it, my hair is growing, its getting longer, but why do people say pretoleum jelly is bad for your hair??? i keep it on my scalp since it tends to be so dry, i also keep olive oil on it, i also use citre shine, it is for white people but it works great on mine. i dont get relaxers either, i flat iron!!!!!

my hair looks great everyone loves it, even the white girls at school!!! i just want to know if i am using good stuff, it seems to be working, also i wanted to know some tips from black girls who have long hair!!!!

Growing black hair???

Yes, you seem to be starting off perfect!

Now...For the other part.. Black womens hair grows slow often..But other may grow faster depending on what is in their genetics. However, if your hair grows slow, it might be 4 years before it is all the way down your back... To speed the growth process, admit from cutting your ends as much and please MONITOR the woman behind you with the scissors!!!!.. If your beautician has short hair, most likely she knows nothing, and i mean nothing about the growing processs... so always look at their hair too!!.. The other thing is the split end Lie!! some ladies get scissor happy and have an addiction to clipping ends and convincing you your hair is damaged and you have split ends.. girl! if your hair is damaged, then start using 3 minute leave in conditions and cholestural conditioners..AVOID too much petrolium!!! a little on your ends Only!! but not on the scalp. too much may clog your pores, so only use it on your ends, where your hair tends to break.. Split ends are normal when hair starts to dry, but they are always there at different lengths and it is almost impossiple to cut them off...lol.. The only reason you should really cut your ends is to even out the growth, like if one side is shorter..But dont let the beautician's give you that uneducated lie about if youd nont get your ends cut, your hair is all going to break off..lol.. I mean when was the last time anybodys hair fell out from not cutting their ends..Just think about it.. Most of hair care is all common sense, you just have to stop and think about things sometimes. I have grown my hair way past my shoulders and have grown my own hair out in the last 5 years.. everybody thinks im mixed because of how silky and long i got it, but its all about learning from trial and error..

also, do some research and find out what fruits and tea's are good for your hair. Native americans and african use natural fruits in their hair for nutrients and so do I. Oh yea,,, one more thing. AVOID HAIR DYE!! if you follow these tips... your hair will be verrrrrrry looong and even more beautiful.. good luck girly! :)

Growing black hair???

if it's working than don't change anything. I've got weord trickss too, like taking 1 a day and eating tones of fresh fruit. My hair is touching my butt. I'm Native American/white

Growing black hair???

the BEST place for answeres is on Black Hair Media. I have found wonderful tips on there.

http://forum.blackhairmedia.com/

Growing black hair???

I'm no black girl but I have long hair... have you ever tried Luster's Pink Oil? I used to live in an extremely dry climate and my hair was super dry. One of my friends suggested that I try Luster's -- she would put it in her hair and sleep with a shower cap. I braided my hair at night and put in the Luster's and my hair became very healthy and shiny. I liked the smell of it, too. (I guess it reminded me of my friend, really). If the stuff that you're using works -- stick with it!

Growing black hair???

they say that vaseline is bad for the hair because the pores in the scalp can start to clog and it can make your hair dirtier and greasier also but hey if you dont have any more hair grease than thats what you should use just for back up in case

Growing black hair???

Petroleum jelly is bad for your hair because it clogs your pores in your scalp, thereby actually stunting healthy hair growth. Try to go with something more porous (the olive oil is good) or mineral oil-based pomades. To me, the lighter, the better-try Optimum Care's pomades. They're light, smell heavenly and give your hair a nice minky luster without overweighing it.

Growing black hair???

you should check out this product line called Design Essentials, they make GREAT stuff for black hair, i'm white but my roomie is black and she is a hair stylist, she uses it and i use some of it too even! they sell it at salons.... as far as what youre using hey if it works for you keep doing it, but i think you would get much better results with this stuff:)

Growing black hair???

petroleum jelly only suffocates the hair doesn't let it breath. olive oil is okay.it is all natural. other than that you are all good.

Growing black hair???

Everyone's hair is different and there is no best answer for everyone but I will say this: the pretroleum jelly is not good for your scalp. Also, you need to be careful about using that flat iron so much. Heat is not your friend!! I hope you are conditioning weekly. You need to find a good daily moisture product and watch what you eat. A multi vitiamin is a good idea also. Last but not least, you would be suprised what a good exercise plan will do for your hair!! Getting that good blood flow going has very positive effects on hair growth.

what the hell is micros

Black women's please help!!!?

ok my hair use to be long and thick and over the years when i got in the 10th grade i had got into a dance team that wants me to wear my hair in ponytails, half up half, and bonds and it's made my hair get weak because i had to stop going to the salon and i was wondering since i can't go to the salon what kind of shampoo and conditioner could i use (i saw the women that did my hair use kerma care and it made my hair really strong and pretty should i get that)

Black women's please help!!!?

you definitely don't want strong and pretty hair, so don't use kerma care

Black women's please help!!!?

if it makes it strong then by all means use it

maybe i shud use it. my hair keeps breaking and i dont have much of it

Black women's please help!!!?

try cutting your ends believe me this is the only way to make it healthier and grow faster.

Black women's please help!!!?

yea...if that shampoo makes yer hair pretty and strong then use it! i dont use special shampoo[[suave..its the cheapest...lol]] but if u want your hair to b straight without bonds then use the gold 'n' hot brand of hair products. they r made especially for black people and they work.

Black women's please help!!!?

Use a salon quality moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Deep condition once a week. Do not use heat on your heair such as a curling iron. Try to set you hair on large rollers or wrap it. The less you apply heat, the better for your hair.

Black women's please help!!!?

You should definitely go with what you know works. Normally you can buy the shampoo and conditioner at the salon you go to.

What is the difference between a black person on welfare and a white person on welfare?

IA would definintly date a black woman on welfare because her skin is glowing pretty and smells like cocoa butter! The body is beautiful, and that bootay is banging! The hair be looking good and everything!

White people always want to talk about black people on welfare but look at the dirty *** whites! They are trailer park trash, their hair looks stringy matted and disgusting! They NEVER where a bra! They mostly have a limp, and no teeth! When white people are on welfare they look DISGUSTING! At least black people know how to take care of themselves when they don't have money!

White people look alright when their rich, and thats ONLY when their rich!

What is the difference between a black person on welfare and a white person on welfare?

lmfao

What is the difference between a black person on welfare and a white person on welfare?

I don't think there must be any differece between black and white. All human beings are same.both black -white breath and do all things alike.they have same blood running.

What is the difference between a black person on welfare and a white person on welfare?

Whats the difference between you and an ****** ?

Not much.

Go spew your crap somewhere else jergoff.

What is the difference between a black person on welfare and a white person on welfare?

Welfare for those who unfortunately are too sick, or too old or truly unable to support themselves, is charity. Welfare for those who are unwilling or just to lazy to work is stealing.... no matter whether their skin is glowing like cocoa butter or pasty white. Don't you think?

What is the difference between a black person on welfare and a white person on welfare?

How about i shove a B.A.R. up your a ss an pull the trigger.....

What is the difference between a black person on welfare and a white person on welfare?

Not much difference if they're as ignorant and illiterate as you are!

What is the difference between a black person on welfare and a white person on welfare?

Why can't ppl just say how one certain group of ppl are nice looking without saying another certain group of ppl are DISGUSTING?

What is the difference between a black person on welfare and a white person on welfare?

None what so ever, albeit, they all can have bad habits, while others do have really good habits.

So why such a question. Are you trying to find some peace of mind, because you are one of them, who lines up every week to claim benefits and smell their bad breath.

If so, take some mint's with you and hand them out, so as to make their day.

So what is the big deal about anyway and who cares.

I have had to line up a couple of times my self over the past decades.

Jobs were once freely available and what has happened to longevity of a job anyway. Nothing is permanent these days, it is just casually a job with nothing permanent.

What is the difference between a black person on welfare and a white person on welfare?

Well for one there are far more African American people on welfare then anyone else. Why because they are lazy and don't want to work and they think society owes them something because of our ancestors. Many are crack addicts as well. Jails are full of crackheads and many more are not white. I am sick and tired of the African American people using their race as they do a credit card at a store when it suits them but truth be known that they are more racist then white folks are. In my line of work, I have seen it time and again and it's sad. I will say not all African American people are lazy but like every barrel a few bad apples spoils it for the good ones. I see it in my community and believe me it's a ugly thing. Pretty much as you are ugly for your racist and idiotic comments. Racism is not as bad as it was in the 60's but it's now becoming more reverse racism. Get a life You also don't see us demanding a White Entertainment TV, like the BET that is out there, or we don't have a White History Month. Yet you wanna make racist comments about white people because maybe just maybe a white girl laughed in your face or maybe you were turned down for foodstamps because you are able to get a job if you wanted one, So get off your highhorse about how unfair whitey is to you and work with us to better the world for all not just black america but for all AMERICA.

What is the difference between a black person on welfare and a white person on welfare?

Attention Everyone!!!! Lets give Bob the question asker a round of applause. Do you know how hard it is to type when you have your head up your ***?

I am growing out my relaxer....HELP!!?

My natural hair state is under-defined loose curls with a little frizz. Think Joan from "Girlfriends". I haven't had a perm in about two months and I love it. I love to wash my hair and watch it form ringlets and accesorize with headbands and clips. BUT I want to make sure tha I care for my hair best as possible. Anyone know of any good shampoos and conditioners that are for natural black hair? Any good methods of keeping natural hair maintained and moisturized??

I am growing out my relaxer....HELP!!?

Welcome to the natural world, I've been a member for three years after having a perm since I was 12...

My hair is coarse and thick, and I wash it with Suave's Humectress Shampoo and Conditioner. Every once in a while if my hair is too dry, I'll do a deep condition with cholesterol, sitting under a dryer--makes your hair extremely strong, but not fun to comb afterwards :(...still working on that.

So far to keep it moisturized, I use Motions Pink Hair Lotion...it doesn't smell WEIRD like that Luster's Pink Lotion, ew...Motions smells like strawberry yogurt for some reason, lol. As for keeping your hair maintained, make sure you have a wide-toothed comb and if you use heat on your hair, use a heat protectant like L'Oreal.

Good luck :).

I am growing out my relaxer....HELP!!?

Wash your hair With Dr.Miracles Shampoo and conditoner , use his hair oils or Doo Gro , its helps your hair grow and keeps it healthy.

I am growing out my relaxer....HELP!!?

Creme of Nature has really good shampoos and conditioners that will leave your hair feeling and looking soft, silky, and healthy.

Also you can use olive oil to help your hair maintain it's moisture and shine.

Hair Of A Frustrated Black MAN!?

Greetings Y!'S Answer Family.

This Question is predominately for the brothers "BUT" replys are all welcome, please!

1st I閳ユ獡 tiring to grow my hair long enough to get this particular style displayed by Q-Tip here

http://www.mtv.com/shared/media/images/a...

I've been told I can achieve this soulful style by getting my hair long enough to braid then undo the braids and finger it out. I am tiring to find out different hair care techniques that will add this journey.

2ndly Is it true that itchy scalp = hair growth? How often should "We" (Black Men) wash our hair if we want it to grow at a rapid pace?

Thanks a lot

Hair Of A Frustrated Black MAN!?

well i'm not a brotha but i am a sista. i like the hairdo you are trying to get. it's right you should braid it and then finger it out. different peoples hair grows at different times. i don't know how fast your hair grows but if you wash it every weekend i think it'll be sure to grow. also, keep it very well moisturized. there's one product called cury buttercream. it works so well on naturally kinky hair. well,i hope i've helped a little.

nrr_uniquebeauty@yahoo.com

Hair Of A Frustrated Black MAN!?

I keep my hair short, and I wash it everyday because I workout and I sweat so I have to wash it daily

Hair Of A Frustrated Black MAN!?

I know what you mean. Well, you need to treat it good. You should wash it every weekend, and moisturize is on a regular basis. Also, to stimulate your roots and follicles, massage your scalp mornings and evenings before going to bed. This stimulates the blood flow to the scalp and hair follicles, making your hair grow faster. I learned this from my mother and i have been doing it ever since. Well, i am black and Indian, so my hair grows faster naturally, but for you, if you do this, it will start to grow and a more rapid pace.

Hope i helped!!!

My daughter is mixed with black/white..and I do not know how to take care of her hair properly..?

I have tried many, many hair lotions and what not but they are all too thick. She is 2 1/2 and her hair is in a cute little 'fro..but her hair is definitely a mix of my hair and her dad's hair. I see other little girls hair that are very long and they are her same age, her hair is probably 2 inches long. How can I get it to grow faster? I usually put her hair in little tiny pigtails and/or pony tail but I can never get the very back of her hair up in the bands. What other things can I do for her hair and what hair products will work best for her? Her hair is thick and curly but not coarse. I have always used a comb to do her hair and when I comb it when it's dry and it looks like I'm breaking it or it has a lot of split ends..how can I make it healthier? Thxs in advance.

My daughter is mixed with black/white..and I do not know how to take care of her hair properly..?

ok my sister is half white half black did you try vo5 conditioning hair dress in the tube? or pink lotion? my mom says pink lotion is best for the hair.. she use too use it in my sisters hair shes 19 now lol can do her own hair... but thats what she used when she was lil its in a pink bottle pink lotion.... brush it dont comb it it will break my sisters hair grew very long and pretty so curly too.. get a good brush and brush it out dont put bands in it or anything tight... clip it with lil clips too keep it out her eyes... just put in the pink lotion brush it out scunch it and shes good ...just clip it back out her eyes it will grow long and pretty.....good luck...

My daughter is mixed with black/white..and I do not know how to take care of her hair properly..?

Thanks for writing this question!

The best thing to do Is go to a salon where they are experienced in caring for his kind of hair. Whikle they are caring, take notes, what kind of grease you they use, how do they "tame" it? what do they do after they wash it? take these notes and use them in your home.

Good Luck and dont feel overwhelmed, its just hair :)

My daughter is mixed with black/white..and I do not know how to take care of her hair properly..?

Take her to the hair salon...

My daughter is mixed with black/white..and I do not know how to take care of her hair properly..?

I have mixed children and I use a mixture of a hair growth treatment(I forget what its called...Ill look when I get home and let you know) and Motions hair conditioning oil for her hair. I only wash my daughter's hair once every 2 weeks...I kow sounds gross but her hair doesn't retain alot of moisture and watching it all the time will make it dry and brittle. I was her hair in Motion's shampoo and a regulaer conditioner then i use a detangling conditioner after that..

My daughter is mixed with black/white..and I do not know how to take care of her hair properly..?

I'm not exactly sure on what products you should use, considering you don't want to spend a lot of money for a two year olds hair. However, Jello will make her hair grow. The hair by her hair line, just needs to grow. I would maybe use Paul Mitchells baby shampoo, to try to keep it healthy. Try to use a smoothing cream on it while dry. I only have a professional product suggestion, sorry. TIGI bed head, after party, only a small amount, should help smooth it out.

What can you use to restore the health of the hair after having it bleached?

3 weeks ago I went to the salon to dye my hair. I had dyed it black in the past but it had grown out and my natural color was on at least 9 inches of hair. I went for a haircut and asked the lady to dye it red, I said I didn't care if the bottom was dark. She said that she wanted to lighten it a little bit because it would look bad like that. I though she was going to bleach the black part a little bit, but she ended up bleaching my whole head!!! Then she put more bleach on the black part, then dyed it brown to match the color and THEN dyed it red! My hair now feels awful! Is there any hope?

What can I use to make my hair look and feel healthier?

My hair is wavy and prone to frizz, and it's mid-back length.

What can you use to restore the health of the hair after having it bleached?

mayo and eggs helped me... i use to dye/color/bleach my hair every three weeks.... my hair was like straw lol... if that doest work... get a hair oil treatment

What can you use to restore the health of the hair after having it bleached?

use pantiene pro-v intense mosture hair shamppo and conditioner i get my hair bleached every 4 weeks and that is what i use

What can you use to restore the health of the hair after having it bleached?

Go to a differnt hair stylest first. Then maybe go to her for advice... mabye that will help

What can you use to restore the health of the hair after having it bleached?

Infusium 23 is a great way to revitalize your hair...it really works.

What can you use to restore the health of the hair after having it bleached?

if the dexterity of the hair is destroyed and it has no cuticle left the only choice is to cut it. live and learn. you can tell if it is gone by ," when it's wet does it feel slimy?" if it is then cut it.

What can you use to restore the health of the hair after having it bleached?

i went through the same problem. i went to sally's and got a deep conditioner . i am not sure what its called, but its in a orange container, it costs about 12-13.

What can you use to restore the health of the hair after having it bleached?

Use a deep conditioner for color treated hair. I've also heard that raw eggs massaged in in hair is supposed to be very helpful. try a beauty supply store in your area, they can be really helpful.

After that, I would seriously find a new stylist for your hair.

best of luck to you.

What can you use to restore the health of the hair after having it bleached?

When the hair is wet....if it's really stretchy and has a chewing gum texture texture then it's needs to be cut.....if its ok then buy a good named penatrative conditioning treated and comb it all through your hair with a wide toothed comb, get a plastic cap/bag and put it on your head and if possible apply some heat to your head...this will really hydrate the hair bonds whilst smoothing down the cuticle scales

What can you use to restore the health of the hair after having it bleached?

sure you could use something like Clairol's "Condition" or other very good brands in a small tube, but it will lighten your hair. I'm not sure whether it will lighten it to an odd color since the ranges of color go from black, brown, to red and then to yellow, so you may in parts undo what your beautician has done for you.

I would rather suggest something like a home remedy like mayonaise (put it on right after you've washed your hair and it's still warm, leave on 10-20 minutes) which will leave it greasy until you wash it 2-3 times, but at least it will have some oil covering the breakage points in the hair and make it a little stronger.

Then with each time you wash your hair use something like Flex shampoo and after you rinse then put on the Flex conditioner and let it set a few minutes and then wash most of it off...and do this each time you wash your hair it will strengthen your hair.

Eventually you will cut off the black ends of your hair and will be able to have a nice red color, but until all that black hair grows out you'll have color problems (different shades).

Flex and Clairol are old and very good brand names.

What can you use to restore the health of the hair after having it bleached?

haha that is funny i just did my hair and if feels bad i use this shamppo and cond. called dumb blonde by bead head its for alll colors and you need to go to a place like a sallys beauty supply and get this reconstructer called generaric that is the name and leaven it for like 20 min and then get a light mousterizer cond. and get a shower cap and put cond. in your hair and leave it in overnight like 2 times a week but if you get something that doesnt say light it will hurt your hair

How do you dye naturaly black hair green, blue, or pink?

I have naturaly black, armpit-length hair and want to dye the ends of my hair either green, blue, or pink. If it hleps, I think I might be leaning towards green. How would I do that?

I hear to NEVER do it at home and that the best way would be to go to the salon. Can they do only ends of hair? What do you think may be a reasonable price?

I'm totally new to this dying stuff, so is there anything I need to know when I go into the salon besides what I want? All I know that I'm going to say is, "I want the ends of my hair green." Are there other things I need to say? Also, what do I need to know concerning the care for dyed hair?

If I've been hearing wrong and I can do it at home for a cheaper price, how would I go about doing that? Product? Step-by-step and tips please?

Thanx!

How do you dye naturaly black hair green, blue, or pink?

no- you have to do at home otherwise they will rip you off. you could however ask them to bleach your hair white. as black hair {mine too}, is hard to dye you have to bleach it. {professionably.} then just buy a hair dye kit and follow instructions on the pack.

How do you dye naturaly black hair green, blue, or pink?

Ok, first you need to bleach the hair you want to dye. Peroxide will not work. If you have dark hair it will just turn your hair orange. then once you have bleached your hair just dye it. make sure you get the proper tools to dye your hair. If you are dying your tips then make sure it is even. Report It

How do you dye naturaly black hair green, blue, or pink?

Go to a salon and tell them exactly what you want and they can do it. They are going to have to bleach and then deposit color which is a double service and may be costly it just depends on where you live and what salon you go too. And it may be cheaper if they are just doing the ends.

How do you dye naturaly black hair green, blue, or pink?

You cant if you want to see the color unless you bleach your hair first and then dye it, which I dont suggest a nauvice do as it can FRY your hair.

How do you dye naturaly black hair green, blue, or pink?

If you have a Sally's (big beauty store) around your area ask the people who work there which dye you should use. They'll tell you which one you use and what's the appropriate mixings to go with it. I went a few days ago and saw that green hair dye was 5-6 bucks, unsure if you had to buy anything else with it. I'm dying the ends of my boyfriends hair blue. I've done it to many other people. The only bad thing about it is that it fades away into a really ugly light whatever color you have. If you really need help just IM me.

I love hair!!

*****POETRY***** care to comment * my first try BLINKS*?

My first try

The sky was dark

The moon was high

We were alone

Just she and I

Her hair was black

Her eyes were too

I knew just what

She wanted to do

So with my courage

I did my best

And placed my hand

Upon her breast

I trembled and shook

And felt her heart

Slowly she spread

Her legs apart

I knew she was ready

But I didn't know how

It was my first try

At milking a cow

*****POETRY***** care to comment * my first try BLINKS*?

My First Time

The sky was dark

The moon was high

All alone just she and I.

Her hair was soft

Her eyes were blue

I knew just what she wanted to do.

Her skin so soft

Her legs so fine

I ran my fingers down her spine.

I didn't know how

But I tried my best

I started by placing my hands on her breast.

I remember my fear my fast beating heart

But slowly she spread her legs apart

And when I did it I felt no shame.

All at once the white stuff came

At last it's finished it's all over now

My first time ever at milking a cow.....

Black people.?

Seek out black owned businesses in your neighborhood and spend your money there. I dont care if u have to drive 10-20 miles to get there, just do it. When we start seeking out our own kind u will start to see things happening, slowly but surely. Have we been reading the new lately. We have to learn to stand together again. We are of the same blood. I dont care if u have fine hair or coarse hair, light skinned or dark skinned; America looks at us the same. If we dont stand together and protect our own best interest who will?

Black people.?

Well they do do the barbershop thing

Black people.?

u better be black urself. rome was not built in a day and i do kno one thing abt black ppl,we only stand together to do terrible things.but whn the time 2 do good arises, we run away.thats the worst of em all.

Black people.?

This kind of thinking is self-defeating. It never solves any problems. Often it betrays some kind of inferiority complex. The correct thing is for anyone and everyone to stand up for what he/she is worth. Stereotyping people can never help. That is not to say that whatever makes you call for solidarity like this may not be true. But I say that what you are calling for can never be the answer. The answer lies in more positive approach to these issues. It lies in taking up issues with whoever is involved in a particular case. I don't believe that any particular race is being persecuted at this point in time by any other group in an organized way. Everybody should try to exercise more tolerance in the interest of the wider society.

I'm getting my hair relaxed tomorrow..?

well im getting my hair relaxed tomorrow and it's not the first time i've had it but its been a long time. So i need to know how to take care of it so that it won't get poofy. my hair is nappy, like most black ppl's and i want it to stay perfectly striaght when i do get it relaxed. so basically i need to know how to take care of it. like what do i tie it up with? do i need to straigten it everyday? i just want to keep it looking fresh and straight for as long as i can. please help!

I'm getting my hair relaxed tomorrow..?

that used 2 happen 2 me 2!! get a cream call 'pink' (u can get it in all nigerian shops) or dark and lovely cream which worrks reli wel and then just blow dry it every day.. if u want u can stil straighten it ( g.h.d's r the best straighteners) but it's reli bad for your hair...

I'm getting my hair relaxed tomorrow..?

What does that mean exactly?

I'm getting my hair relaxed tomorrow..?

what does it mean ?

I'm getting my hair relaxed tomorrow..?

Well you would need to just get it done and wrap it up at night and it could possibly last up to two weeks, Depending on what you are doing and how well you take care of it.

It wont be hard...

P.s- not all blk ppl have "nappy" hair. I am mixed but i have all blk cousins who hair is beautiful..

I'm getting my hair relaxed tomorrow..?

Keep your hair moisterized, and keep your ends trimmed and you should be fine. O yea if you want it straight all the time just keep it wrapped. And also keep heat off of it (like flat irons, curling irons) because too much will make your hair break off.

I'm getting my hair relaxed tomorrow..?

wow! i cant believe you dont know what to do lol. But anways when you get your hair relaxed, are you still straightening with a flat iron or curling iron. Well thats what you should do to get your hair perfectly straight. Well anyways, I also know that when you wrap your hair it will stay straight. If you straighten everyday then you will damage you hair.

Neways to wrap your hair

1.Make a middle part

2.take the right side of your hair and comb it over the left making it into a wrap"

3. keep going around until it is perfectly smooth and put a scarf over it at night.

Where in fort lauderdale, fl is there a GOOD place to get my hair done?

I've lived here for 11 years now and I still can't find a good salon. The only place I went to was JC Penney and they were marvelous, but I don't wanna spend 80 bucks on a perm, wrap and trim. I need a good black hair care stylist that is inexpensive and has a good reputation.

Where in fort lauderdale, fl is there a GOOD place to get my hair done?

that's really cheap for a perm, let alone a wrap and a trim too. remember, you get what you pay for.

Is it best to perm your hair before you clip your ends?

For black hair care

Is it best to perm your hair before you clip your ends?

It is best to cut after the straightening process. If your "perm" is done properly, it shouldn't damage the ends any more than the rest of your hair, however, the hair should all have the same curl pattern before cutting to get the best possible cut/style.

Is it best to perm your hair before you clip your ends?

I would think so. Any damage done to the ends well be cut off.

Is it best to perm your hair before you clip your ends?

Yep, that way you can get all the split ends that the perm creates.

Is it best to perm your hair before you clip your ends?

One has nothing to do with the other. All you need to cut off dead ends is dry and clean hair. Once that is accomplished, you can cut your ends. Most peoeple simply get a trim when they relax their hair, because you should be trimming your ends every 6-8 weeks, which is usually how often one relaxes her hair. But lets say, you aren't going to be relaxing your hair for 3-4 months, you should still be trimming your hair every 6-8 weeks.

Is it best to perm your hair before you clip your ends?

It is best to clip your ends after your perm.

It get rids of your split ins and give your hair a polished look after your relaxer.

Is it best to perm your hair before you clip your ends?

Yes, so that way the length can drop and not be uneven.

Is it best to perm your hair before you clip your ends?

NO, CLIP ENDS FIRST DO THIS 1-2 DAYS BEFORE APPLYING YOUR PERM. IF YOU DON'T IT WILL CAUSE ALOT OF DAMAGE AND MORE DAMAGE ENDS AND YOUR HAIR WILL NOT LOOK SILKY AND SMOOTH.

I am in desparate need of finding a good hair salon!?

My hair has not grown right since I became pregnant three years ago. Hormones and stress and just plain ignorance has taking a toll. I want my beautiful hair back. I am even willing to cut it short. How do I find a good black hair care salon in my area? I've been to three in the past two years and no luck. Thanks for all your help.

I am in desparate need of finding a good hair salon!?

The next time you see a woman with an awesome haircut, just ask her who her stylist is! It might help to call all the salons in your area and find out which ones specialize in african-american hair. It also might be a good idea to interview the stylist before she cuts your har, ask to see pictures of her past work, etc. If you are not comfortable with her, don't feel obligated to get your hair cut there.

I've heard that taking vitamin and mineral supplements can help restore hair, too.

WHATEVER YOU DO.... DO NOT DIE IT BALCK!!! This will turn your hair green/grey!!!! You would want to do a red first and if you do not like the red, 2 weeks later ten dye it black but you will need to have a violet based color (red or burgundy or auburn) in order to get to black. Good luck and please take my advice I am a licensed cosmetologist and an at home dyer and I have made this mistake a time or two!

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

ohhh it is a nightmare...she has the curls of her black heritage, the thickness and ability to grow of mine (I am white with EXTREMELY thick hair that grows almost an inch a month) and texture of just in between, so relaxers are OUT of the question.

She is 4. Everyday I use Motions Hair Lotion to condition her scalp and hair and use it to style the hair.

Twice a week we wash using Just For Me Shampoo and then condition with a heavy conditioner.

To brush her hair I use Loreal Detangler, and use Silken Child Deep Moustuirzing Hair Lotion to set and style and condition even further.

I have moustierization covered...her hair is only dry at night....I used to plat her hair 3 days out of the week and it seemed to manage the extreme tanlging, but last month she cut one of her braids off, so braiding it OUT of the question.

I am always looking for hair care tips.....so give me any adice you can.

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

Ok, I'd first like to commend you. You have done far more than many women in your place would do. All too often I see biracial children walking around and I just want to take them home and do their hair! So good for you! Anyway, I'm not mixed, but my hair texture is extremely curly and very much like the hair of my bi-racial neice. Seriously the only way to keep the hair from being tangled is to comb only when wet with conditoner in it. As for styling, I recommend using products by www.curlz.biz. They have been featured in magazines all over the place it works great. I personally adore Missjessies.com products but they are more expensive and don't carry a line for children. I would NEVER recommend a relaxer for children or adults. Nor would I recommend cutting. This type of hair is diffucult to manage. It's a fact. We have all had to accept it girl. Now you do too! Unless you want to alter the natural texture of her hair, nothing will change the way it is. But there are products that will help in defining her curls so you don't have to always do the afro poof. Braids need to be your best friend. I know you said she cut one off..But all you have to do is keep her away from scissors and I'm sure after the stern talking to you gave her, she has learned her lesson. My cousins did the same thing, but that didn't stop mom from braiding their hair! How many kids have you seen with lopsided bangs? This is something they do, that shouldn't stop you from maintaining their hair. Especially this kind of hair! Not braiding it will be more trouble than braiding it! I wouldn't waste time straightening a child's hair because they run around and sweat it out in a day (as you've learned). Save the straight look for easter/church/temple.. whatever... When she's older flat ironing her straight with a ceramic iron (maxiglide, chi, hai) will be another option for you. By then you will have learned to wrap the hair at night to preserve the staight look. Wrapping the hair involves brushing the hair flat against the haid in a circular motion until all hair is wraped around the head in a flat nest. You must then use a silk/satan scarf to tie around the nest. As a child, my mother would use a pair of panty hose over the scarf because I slept wild and would often rip the scarf off of my head at night. Braiding and unbraiding the hair will help in creating more defined riglets that hang better as well. Stay away frpm heavy pomades and all that crap sold for "black hair"..though I use some..lol...most of it is for marketing purposes and contain chemicals that will eventually dry the hair out. Use natural oils and conditoners like avacdo, olive oil, sweet almond oil, tee trea oil....and even mayo! I buy all of my shampoos and conditioners from the vitaminne shop/GNC.

Good Luck!

Also..ignore the poster who said the longer itgets the easier itgets. The longer our hair gets, the BIGGER it gets.It won't grow in a downward direction. Instead it grows OUT! lol...

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

try french braiding, it is good for short hair

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

talk to a hair dresser. maybe is certain kind of cut will help.

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

It seems like it would make your life a lot easier if you would just cut it off really short, maybe 1/2 inch or an inch long. You don't need to fix the hair. Even if it is long, just gather it up and put it in a pony-tail holder. You are spending way too much time trying to control her hair. She will get the idea there's something wrong with the way her hair is. The idea that black hair needs special treatment i think is obsolete. Stop trying to make her hair different than it is. Accept it. Cut it off would make life easier.

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

Use an Egg Soak on her it will take about 6 of them then wash it out..Try using pure rain water put a container outside you could also try using beer as well.once a week this will thin it out my sister has a baby like yours and does this treatment

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

No perms and wash it every Sunday or so. Also, straight it with a hot comb. I'm 12 and I'm mixed. My grandma straightens my hair with the hot comb and it's down my back. Also, when her hair gets puffy or caught in the rain, put it in a big puffy ponytail.

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

my best friend is mixed with black and white her mom is white and her dad is black maybe when she get older you could give her a perm!1 but for now maybe you should cut it to shoulder length and straighten it and then you could french braid it it always works for my friend!! good luck!!

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

ive been doing hair for 15 years,a relaxer is never out of the question cut her hair to the longest length you can eaily manage get her a mild relaxer apply it to her ends only and keep up your normal routine.

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

my daughter is mixed also %26amp; i have had simliar problems. her hair is super-fine (can't use relaxers) %26amp; super-curly %26amp; there is a lot of it.

she has two options: keep it long %26amp; mommy has to do it every day (of course she hates that!) or cut it all off.

she has decided to keep it long (%26amp; why not? it's more like her friends %26amp; mommy); the main problem i continue to have is with dryness.

i use the aquage line of hair care products; it helps tremendously. we use their shampoo %26amp; conditioner, detangler %26amp; hydrating mist, %26amp; the gel if i'm braiding or doing pony tails.

i also found that keeping her hair trimmed (every 6 weeks) helps to keep it from getting so tangled. this process has worked the best for us.

i stay away from products formulated for "black" hair, b/c they use a lot of mineral oil, which does not moisturize; it just sits on the hair shaft. besides, hair is hair, no matter your skin color.

sounds like you are doing everything possible; good luck!

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

Whatever you do DON'T listen to the girl who said cut it short! That will not help AT ALL...except make her look like a brillo pad and get picked on when she starts school! I have very curly hair, I'm not mixed but my hair is similar to that of someone who is...also my little cousin is mixed and she has hair like mine... this is what you do... not sure if it will help but try it out:

1) Keep it long.. because the longer it gets the heavier it gets, and that will reduce frizz and keep the curls nice.

2) Try a deep conditioner.. I know she is of Black Heritage but this may work well... Use a very deep conditioner and detangler, comb, not brush, in the tub...makes it much easier.

3) When finished try using a leave in conditioner on her hair or a conditoner mixed with water. spray or rub in hair all the way through.

4) Try using a product called noodle head they have product for curls... like gels and lotions.

ALSO..try other curly hair gel products... but DO NOT CUT IT!

Tips for taking care of my mixed daughters hair?

Whatever you do don't cut her hair she will regret it and so will you. I braid kids hair all day everyday if you live in or around Athens, Georgia holla at me i will hook you up for free. But a good tip is keep her hair washed and braided for the summer and when she goes back to school just add beads. She will love it trust me I know.

How do I make my hair grow faster and stronger.?

I've tried basically everything. And something ya'll should know is that I'm black. I don't have white girl hair, no offense to white girls but my hair isn't as easy to take care of. So if ANYONE can help me please HELP ME!

How do I make my hair grow faster and stronger.?

Step One: Buy a High Quality Hair Growth Product I suggest you go all-natural. Unnatural hair care products are a no-no for someone who wants long-lasting, healthy hair growth. Find a hair growth product that contains powerful essential oils, natural herbs, and vitamin rich nutrients your hair needs to survive. Look for products with ingredients such as: Aloe Vera, Citrus Fruits, Jojoba, Rosemary, and Sage. Make sure you stray away from all natural products that use natural extracts. Extracts are not as powerful as essentials oils. They are a cheap substitute for the real thing. Although there are several natural hair care products on the market, not all hair growth products are created equal. Make sure you read the fine print. Most 锟絥atural锟?products still contain phosphates, sodium lauryl sulfate, petroleum, mineral oil, and other lab created humectants that ultimately damage your hair. My advice---if you can锟絫 read the ingredients, don锟絫 buy the product. When I was searching for a natural hair growth product, I found one really great buy, Beauty 4 Ashes Super Hair Growth System. Finding this company took me awhile; but Beauty 4 Ashes pretty much gives you everything you need to make your hair grow. Foremost, I checked the ingredient listings and the products contained no artificial ingredients. The system also included hair growth vitamins, a great hair healthy eating plan, and even scalp stimulating hair growth exercise routine. At first, the system may seem a bit pricey, but, boy was I impressed with the results. In 9 months, I went from patches of hair to hair just above my shoulders. Now, I am no product junkie; but I have to tell you that this product is worth the money. It does not cost an arm and leg and it is worth every penny you pay. You can find it easily at www.discoverb4a.com. Also, check for it on Ebay. You may actually find a deal.

Step Two: A Healthy Hair Eating Plan Your hair is all protein. Thus, you need a protein rich diet, chocked fill of B Vitamins and other hair-strengthening nutrients. Increase your intake of fish. It is full of healthy proteins and essential fatty acids and natural oils your hair needs. In addition, drink a protein supplement or shake everyday. If you follow this plan, not only will your hair grow, but you will also lose weight. That is, of course, if you lay off the junk food. Remember, I warned you too much junk food above.

Step Three: Drink Water Eight to ten glasses of water is an absolute requirement. Drinking water flushes your body of toxins, chemicals, and impurities that stifle your hair growth and disrupt your hormone and enzyme imbalances. Water also transports the important nutrients your body needs throughout your body. Hate drinking water? Add lemon and Splenda to have a healthy, tasty alternative.

Lastly, your hair care products, lifestyle, and styling techniques may be facilitating your hair loss or stunting your hair growth. If your diet is laden with fats, alcohol, sugars, and junk foods, you are actually inhibiting your hair锟絪 ability to grow. If you buy most, if not all, of your hair care products from traditional stores, you are most likely buying a hair-damaging useless product. Most hair care products, including most of those that claim to be 锟絘ll-natural,锟?contain synthetic emulsifiers and harsh detergents, such as Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Phosphates, and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Unfortunately, these products are loaded with toxins and chemicals that actually dry and strip your hair of vital nutrients it needs to grow.

Getting Hair to Grow Faster

Here is advice:

Increase blood flow by gently massaging the scalp. Eat plenty of leafy green vegetables and plenty of protein. Soy (ie., tofu) and a variety of beans is a good source of protein. Drink plenty of water. Stay away from drugs and alcohol. Keep a healthy diet. This regimen should be followed for several months as hair only grows approx. One-half inch per month. Do not comb or brush hair when wet as this causes breakage. If hair has been damaged, (perm or coloring) use a good conditioner. Try to air dry versus using a blowdryer.

This might sound funny, but my hair grew almost 9 inches with pregnancy. Otherwise, prenatal vitamins will work wonders and keep you healthy. Also, "Mane and Tail" horse shampoo helps. You can buy that in Wal-Mart in the pet shampoo. If you have any hair at all, if you pull it tight in a pony tail, that works. (Takes a little longer though) I hope this helps you.

VITAMIN E

Mane-N-Tail shampoo is used to make hair grow faster.

To grow your hair faster wash it every week dont put to many chemicals in your hair wrap it every night and put a silk scarf on it regular scarfs can pull out your hair but not silky scarfs.

If you want to grow your hair fast it is good to wash and condition it at least once a day. Don't use cheap conditioner. Take niacin or other vitamins to maximize the growth potenial. It is good to get atrim every 6 - 8 weeks to cut off the dead ends. It will help it grow faster.

If you're a woman, sometimes prenatal vitamins make hair and nails grow stronger and faster.

* Use a good conditioning shampoo %26amp; conditioner (try Pantene Relaxed %26amp; Natural or Pantene Breakage Defense)

* Don't use a curling iron/flat iron daily (I only use heat on my hair when I wash it; I wrap it the rest of the week).

* Keep your scalp moisturized (a light oil or oil sheen; NOT hair grease)

* keep the ends of your hair trimmed and conditioned (I put extra leave-in conditioner around my edges and on the ends to keep the hair from breaking/splitting)

* Use a silk scarf to tie your hair down at night

* Avoid using rubberbands/elastic pony tail holders

* As mentioned, take your vitamins, especially pre-natal vitamins!!

Good luck!

How do I make my hair grow faster and stronger.?

Eat healthy, drink lots of water, and take prenantal vitamins. I don't know why someone said not to take them. Prenatal vitamins are recommened to all women who can have children, pregnant or not. I've been taking them for a while and I've never felt healthier and my nails and hair have never been stronger and looked healthier and grown faster as they do now! Not all women react the same is true, but I don't see how folic acid and other essential vitamins would hurt. It def. wouldn't hurt to try!
